For me, it’s that tomorrow’s a new day to start fresh. I used to make a mistake or get in an argument and dwell on it for weeks. It would cause a lot of unnecessary stress to the point of feeling sick. I do much better starting each day with a clean slate.
What’s one thing you wish somebody would have taught you sooner?

Understanding the power of being present in this moment. Whether it’s meditation or mindfulness or whatever vehicle you choose. But realizing that all humans get caught up in our thoughts and fictional worlds of past and future when the present moment is just fine….we’re ok…the world is ok…right now.
Best bit of advice I ever received. While I was depressed, due to a break up that I’d taken two years to even start getting over. A friend said to me – “You went to the gym because you were unhappy with how you look, but you realise you can work on your mind to change how you feel, you know that right?”
Realising that my happiness was something only I am responsible for, and not something that could just improve over time was some sort of miraculous epiphany to me, then.
For me, it’s really boring, but stocks, shares, and investing. Also, how does finance work.
The earlier you learn this stuff really makes a difference in the long term. Though I couldn’t imagine the 18 year old me caring too much about that stuff.
Time thinking is time not doing.
I would get bogged down in analysis paralysis of decision making– every worst case scenario considered to the nth degree. There’s merit to planning ahead, but when all you do is plan and never actually execute, time is doubly wasted.
Actual economics, not “should be” economics. All the utopianism with no reality to back it up led me to believe things about how to educate myself and how to work, that did not held up when put to the test. I hit rock bottom, I abandoned the false information and rebuilt since then, but it would have been nice to not waste time on false information.
Life always wins, take what it shows and go with it, whether you like it or not.
