  5. Ok-Cucumber3356 Avatar

The first sip of water when you’re legit thirsty. Not just ‘I should hydrate’ thirsty, but ‘I just ran a mile in desert sun or woke up with a mouth like sawdust’ thirsty. Suddenly, that tap water tastes like it was blessed by Poseidon himself. Luxury isn’t always expensive—sometimes it’s your body screaming ‘THANK YOU’ after you forgot it existed for 8 hours

  6. Wraithei Avatar

Clean Air, because it’s incredibly rare & therefore actually a luxury 😂

  7. Huge-Pattern7967 Avatar

when you have pretty priviledge because not everyone was blessed with a pretty face and a nice body.

The odor of lilac flowers, or roses. I’m sad that they cut down a big rose bush that I used to pass by when walking from the bus stop to work. I’d always stop and smell the flowers.

  17. Warm-Arachnid-7693 Avatar

    The smell of fresh bread!
I work near a bread factory and it smells lovely every morning

Finding a private pull-off for a pee break during a long drive and plenty of coffee. Ahhh

The fact I can just turn on the sink and get drinking water that won’t try to kill me with viruses and bacteria.  We take having clean drinking water that we don’t have to boil first for granted

  21. Personal-Border5777 Avatar

Not free, but near enough. We all in the UK flush our toilets with drinking water.

Healthcare and education. I live in Scotland, these things aren’t technically “free” because they’re funded through our taxes.

But it blows my mind seeing people in other countries going into debt or dying because they can’t afford healthcare or people paying off tuition fees and student loans for years and being left with a higher sum than when they started. I have asthma, if I need a new inhaler I email my GP and collect a free prescription, I’ve heard of people in America dying of Asthma attacks because they can’t afford an inhaler. Monetising healthcare is barbaric.

Sex with someone you love that loves you in return.

  43. SagHor1 Avatar

The love of a spouse. To know that your marriage is secure and you can plan ahead for the future together.

Now you can focus on your career, kids, and hobbies and living day to day in general. See a retirement.

The opposite is worrying that you are coming to a state of divorce where you gotta split your assets, spend operating expenses, i.e. rent for one person, and splitting time with kids. And also delay retirement.

Now I’m really curious about those deleted posts! My imagination will just have to do the heavy lifting. I’m sure I can come up with something suitably scurrilous.

As someone that grew up in the 80s and had to thumb through countless volumes of encyclopedias for school, Wikipedia is amazing.

    Also, Bluetooth technology.

Not necessarily free but active noise cancellation is a game changer.

The library for sure. Still love the smell of the shelves.

A Muskoka chair in a park. Some nicer parks have individual chairs out for public use. It feels almost wrong to use it, it’s too comfortable to be free and it feels wrong to be excluding others from using it by using it. It feels normal for there to be an uncomfortable bench, but make it a nice chair and suddenly it feels to luxurious.

  61. DogsDucks Avatar

Going to the library! The libraries in my neighborhood have so many programs and extra classes and resources.

  62. Sexy9Girl Avatar

When my cat chooses to sleep on my lap. She’s super picky about it too so when she finally settles down and starts purring I feel like I’ve been chosen by royalty or something.

  63. TheCoreOfTheOnion Avatar

Living in a walkable city with beautiful old architecture & nature – going for walks feels so good for the soul!

  64. TryMinimum5196 Avatar

Reading, for free, basically 90% of anything that’s ever been published whether through a library or just a scanned book.

  65. wng378 Avatar

A library card lets you pick out any book you like, sometimes e-books and audio books straight to your phone.

You can also just walk in and ask for historical records, newspapers, and a fully paid staff member is there to help you pull everything. For free.

  66. AI-artcreator Avatar

Honestly, a quiet walk in nature. You don’t have to spend anything, and yet it feels like you’ve escaped into another world, surrounded by peace and beauty. It’s the kind of moment that makes you appreciate the little things.
