For me, it was when I made ice cream at school in home economics the week before summer break – it was meant to be our final lesson of the year where we could make something just for fun. It had to be frozen overnight before it was solid enough for us to eat. The very next day, a kid caught swine flu and the school decided to start vacation a week early in case anyone else was infected. I never got to collect my ice cream!! The school probably threw them all out. That ice cream I never had haunts me – it had a raspberry ice cream base with some other fruits thrown into it. I don’t even know if it would’ve tasted good, but I never got to find out. I think about it from time to time. RIP raspberry ice cream. Edit to add: The kid who caught swine flu made a full recovery.

This one pair of limited edition doc Martens that I put off buying with “tomorrow I’ll take another look at it” and they were sold out the next day, that pair still haunts me. From time to time I check second-hand sites and ebay if somebody happens to have a pair stashed for resale but I never find any or they are not my size :/
