My fashion doll/doll clothes collection would have my younger self flipping out lol
PS4 and Switch, for someone who was not allowed to have video games as a child, now I have 2!
Recently, some club dresses, corset and Halter tops, and mini skirts. And block heels to go with them. And a trip to Las Vegas to gamble and drink. My teenage self would be aghast. 😄
[deleted]
Sex toys, alot of sex toys
Vitamins, supplements, sushi, Botox, hormones, accelerants, benzos….
The tattoos that are on my body.
Dyson v15. I would have thought it was ridiculous to buy a vacuum that pricey
Impulsive tickets to Disney world that I just tried one day at midnight cuz I was bored, so that’s where I’ll be in September
Hello kitty everything
Tattoos, makeup, holdays, diamonds
Pokémon cards
“Oh you can’t eat that much candy at once” – HUM BET!😏
I just bought a bunch of supplies for making friendship bracelets, just because I can.
A really good mop & bucket
A drum set
Lots of colorful and cool sneakers.
Buying things for hobbies
Zero regrets
I understand now what it means to have a life outside work
My own home where my mean family isn’t allowed to come to and I can keep it clean where nobody hurts me because they think it’s funny.

Dyson Hair Dryer.
Sushi for lunch at work.
Teenage child of a single parent would be aghast at the waste of money, when I could buy an entire loaf of bread and a jar of Nutella for less 😂
my robot lawnmower. I was never allowed to have a goldfish and now I don’t want to maintain a tank for one, so sometimes I look out at the yard and see my lawnmower quietly doing its thing and smile, or I go out in the yard with my dog and follow it around. Younger me probably would have hot glued sparkling pony beads onto it or wound the top in gimp, and I’m not going to do that (I did paint it’s name on there tho) but still. She would have thought it was pretty fucking rad.
Vibrator… 😂
Also pack of cigarettes that even my adult self what go WTF WERE YOU THINKING??? (Not a smoker. Was REALLY stressed out and went fuck it. Smoked a total of five (partial in my life). Two from that pack. (The last was a menthol I just shrugged and took. That was it. Not since 😂 I have enough other shit going on).
Would be happy I finally got a tattoo that had been burning in the back of my brain
Books that I don’t have enough space for 😂
The furniture I’ve thrifted, especially the antiques. I grew up fairly poor and didn’t think nicer things were “for me,” like Walmart flat pack furniture was all I could have. Once I got into thrifting it helped bridge the gap between what I could comfortably spend on things and I started collecting things that I loved. So it’s not that I’ve spent a lot of money, just spent intentionally.
A giant beanbag
She’s think it was cool that I could book trips and travel on my own dime.
Tattoos
Many plane tickets
Tickets!! Tickets to concerts and Broadway tours.
And the thing is, I really prefer good seats. Like, I’m already dropping a shitton of money and logistical effort to go to the show, I might as well spring for front-and-center if I can.
Eleven-year-old me also would’ve lost her mind at seeing Weird Al sing Everything You Know Is Wrong right there, live, in person.
Luxury bags and jewelry. Growing up as a teenager and then college student, I thought people would take me more seriously if I looked plain and professional. I always kept my hair up, never wore pink, and wore no jewelry, no makeup. Now as a 38 yr old woman, I know that’s nonsense. I do enjoy all those things now, AND people still take me seriously.
The hundreds and hundreds of books I’ve bought. Especially all the beautiful stenciled edged ones! I’ve run out of space on my shelves but I can’t help myself. I want them all. Younger me would be so happy. Sometimes I just stare at my magnificent bookshelf and smile.
Oh and all the fun vibrators, paddles, floggers, etc would definitely freak out younger me. 🤣🫣🤫
Horse
More books than I have shelf space for.
a dog and all the toys she could ever want
Bought more expensive things, but my younger self would be blown away by my anbernic arc retro handheld. 15 yr old me would lose his shit pag nalaman nyang lahat ng games sa arcade up to consoles up to PS1 is in that small device.
And the android phones
Gaming PC and sex toys
Spent around 4k on my gaming PC and around 3k on the toys LOL
Tickets to see Adele in Las Vegas. So much money, but don’t regret it
Bought a house on my own.
I grew up in a toxic house and wanted my own home since I was 11/12. I would dream about what my house would look like, dreamed about having my safe space.
At 29 we did it.
Being able to preorder my favorite anime characters figures from Japan…and buy multiples of them to keep safe in storage
My own home…insane!
A whole cake and it wasn’t even close to being my birthday nor was I celebrating anything. I also didn’t have to share it with anyone. This would have blown my younger self’s mind. Even on my birthday, I only ever got one tiny slice of cake while my cousins got to take home whatever was left, I had no say in it. On top if that, they were never hurting for money, always got to celibrate their birthdays like they were grand events yet my cake minus one tiny piece was ultimately theirs.
Pets. Lots of pets
Car!!
A furby
A mattress. YOU SPENT HOW MUCH
A nice watch 😎 and a nice house. 😎

A Porsche.
It’s no longer just a poster on my wall.
No regrets.
Tickets to worlds of fun. “Amusement parks are for kids who make their parents proud”

Leatherman multi-tool
The living room set up I have for my son.
My son is autistic and sensory seeking. So the entire living room is basically a play space. I have a big swing in the middle, an 8 foot spider web net, monkey bars, crash pads, etc. And that’s just the living room.
Younger me would lose it/be thrilled about the absolute silliness of it. Being an adult always seemed so serious so being able to do whatever to a space for joy instead of what’s expected would have made younger me very happy.
An Italian made ice cream machine that I can barely lift by myself. It’s still kinda insane but it is my Preciousss.
Gold!
ohh so many things lol
I understand the sentiment of “A man’s home is his castle” now haha
Trips all over the world. Kid me dreamed of going to the beach and seeing the seas and oceans, now I have seen the Pacific, the Atlantic, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean.
1K+ bottle of nail polish, private library, crystal collection and an unlimited hot yoga subscription
Plane tickets.
My dolls that I have. I find them very comforting for my anxiety but I still have to hide them from my family as they’ll bully me out of them 😅
Tickets to concerts and travels. I used to be very stingy with money, especially with my wants, because I also had to provide for my family. Now I feel less shame about spoiling myself with things that make me happy. The younger me might faint over these, but I know she’d be happy deep down.
A handmade electric ukulele 🤩 I love it so much.
An exact replica of Anduril.
Been a life long LotR fan. My younger self would never believe I ve actually been to New Zealand, let alone to Hobbiton, twice! She thinks it would be like going to Narnia lol.
Piano lessons and novels! I wasn’t allowed to read novels as a kid and could only read my “school books”. Had my parents even go to the school to complain about the mandatory reading novels. 🙃
Books. Lots and lots of books – my own personal library
Designer shoes. Younger me never would have believed I’d have the means the spend on “luxury” items just because I want them. It was a liberating act after growing up almost exclusively on hand-me-down clothes.
I have a three bedroom to myself 💗
Steam deck
Solo trips, expensive camping gear, prof sporting event tickets, concert tickets, next I want to buy a fancy bike. Also have wanted to see lady gaga this yr and splurged one day for it 🙂
a horse
gaming pc

Probably all the weed. 👍🏻
omg, I bought a real coffee maker and my younger self would be shookeee like, no more instant packets for me! #AdultingWins
I paid off my car today. The loan was over $18,000 and Ive been making payments for 6 years.
So so many things!
A dog, cool coffee mugs, plants, art, outdoor gear…
The two-week overseas trip that I’d always, always wanted to take since I was a kid. I finally got to lay flowers on the graves of my ancestors, saw several places I’d always wanted to visit, and treated myself to something new and fantastic every day. I did the whole thing solo, and to this day it was one of the best things I’ve ever done.
Lots of big Tony’s candy bars
I’d have been appalled as a youngster to find out how much money I’ve spent on weed and still managed to be a very successful professional.
My Gaming PC and all my nerdy merch.
Very nice jewelry over the last several years.
A full size trampoline.

Shoes x150
I don’t think it’s one thing. I didn’t have much and what I did have was always up for grabs. Now that we earn a good living and we don’t have kids, I basically just get what I want and that freedom would have awed my younger self.
Honestly? A 11×13” handmade leather journal I paid $175 for. My younger self was SO jealous of the sisters on the series Charmed and their huge book of shadows. Now she finally has one. 😌
Cupcakes don’t have to wait until birthdays or special occasions for em. Can buy em whenever I want now
Sailor moon proplicas had one of the toys in the 90s and always wanted the new “adult” version of it.
I bought a paddle board today! It’s can’t wait to use it once I get that and some life jackets in a few days
6k bike. Seems ridiculous, but it’s ridiculously fun.
Expensive coffee, clothes, liquor and premium snacks. I was stingy as hell when young lol
A sport bike. Younger me’s mind would explode knowing I’d buy one one day
A growing wall of anime figures
I got a shot that makes me skinny. Best money spent. Also, there is a drug that makes your mind less, um, all over the place.
I just got a $500 ergonomic chair (I work from home so it was a solid investment)
House, new clothes, stuff for hobbies, name brand food, a Costco membership, anything really.
literally any woman thing, and printer toner
Our home, the wedding of our dreams, a car that’s nearly paid off, an education that got me a good paying job… Really anything I’d want or need (within reason) I can -mostly- afford.
There’s more, but those are the biggest. Considering I didn’t think I’d make it this far, and I grew up poor… The life my husband and I have now is a dream. My past self would be proud.
Super colorful and skimpy festival clothes 🙂 my inner child is happy though
Baby clothes. Lmao
Name brand groceries. Regularly. I still buy a lot of store brand stuff, but there is a lot of food where brand makes a huge difference.
An instax camera – I’ve been obsessed with them for a very long time, but never bought one. It’s not like they’re absurdly priced, I just couldn’t justify it until now
Xbox
Glass water pipe
Rock tumbler. Just opened it after the second week tumbling, and though they have a ways to go, younger me would have thought I’m elbows deep in riches.
A corgi!
Concert tickets!!!
Junk food and streaming services. My younger self would consider both a waste of money without realizing I don’t have the time to bake like I did back then and that it’s worth my time (so far) to pay for streaming rather than pirating. Young me much preferred being a pirate.
Tattoos
Mazda Miata, always wanted a convertible. At 28 yrs old I got one!
A very very fast car. No more dented 68′ VW bug.
PS5
A ton of weed
My kid self would be extatic over our plushie hoard. She would also have glitter in her eyes when she sees our Disney store Rapunzel dolls and playsets that were limited editions. And she’d cry about our cute chihuahua.
A powerful car. Not everyone’s cup of tea but it makes me smile.
A high end shower, my young self would be like Why?????? XD
A giant LEGO Hogwarts set. My younger self would’ve screamed. I used to stare at the catalog for hours and now it just sits proudly on a shelf like a childhood dream come true.
Fossils! I was obsessed with dinosaurs when I was a kid. Had no idea that regular people could buy prehistoric teeth, bones, and other fossils until the last few years. I now have 15-20 in my collection, and younger me would have completely lost her mind with excitement.
Sex toys , lego, dolls, a phone, and a new pc——because I was not alowed to have a passion like the boys.(wtf)
Pink velvet couch
My hundreds of dollars of manicure supplies. So much gel nail polish, UV light, press on nails, nail glue, nail stands, nail art brushes, and so on.
“You’ve spent THAT much money just on nails?”
“Look, you’ve always been self conscious about your little hands, and a fresh manicure makes them look better. Plus it’s fun to do, right? Besides, I make enough so that it’s nbd to buy a new nail polish or set of brushes every now and then.”
🥹 “nice”
Knee-high Chuck Taylors
weed🤣 i always wanted to buy a large amount & never could bc i was living off of a $20 allowance at 14/15.
Comic books
Just got a Meta Quest 3 and am obsessed!
A laptop!
Weed

Set of antique dishes
A car, my own phone, my own place, sooo many concert tickets over the years! Any art supplies I want, when I want them-not waiting until the others are used up or dried out before getting more. Legitmately nice rollerskates. Tattoos, piercings, the kind of clothes and jewelry that I like to wear (my parents wouldn’t buy anything they wouldn’t personally like to wear themselves), more than one pair Doc Marten boots. We’re still working on that genuine black leather jacket, but 15 year old me would atill be pretty pumped!
Disney time share. I live near Disneyland and watched as the built grand ca hotel. It’s incredibly expensive and I knew I’d never stay there in my life. Bought dvc and stay there multiple times a year.
After reading this title, I feel like I need to go buy a jukebox machine or a giant Gumby doll.
A home full of laughter, peace and abundance.
My designer wardrobe.
I grew up scrounging around goodwill and thrift stores for clothes as a teenager. I yearned so hard for the stuff in Vogue and Harper’s. Instead of rockstar posters I had fashion spreads and Gaultier ads papered all over my walls 🥲 I don’t care if it’s frivolous, it makes me so happy to feel like myself finally.
All the art supplies I could ever want. As a kid, I had an ‘expensive taste’ I.e. I didn’t want the basic cheap paints, colouring pens or sketch books… they were always poor quality and I didn’t like using them. But then I’d get told off for not using the things that were bought for me. It’s so nice as an adult to be able to chose what I want to splurge on – having the choice is so liberating!
Really good running shoes. We were welfare cash assistance and food stamps kind of poor. New shoes were few and far between. When we did get a new pair, think blue light Kmart special. Maybe Payless, if I was lucky. Now I buy good shoes and I don’t even wait for them to be on sale.
My kindle! Such a small thing but I use it daily and I love it! As a teen I used to walk through book stores in the mall, dreaming of reading the books but only got maybe one or two every few months (not that I wasn’t allowed, they were just expensive and lower on my family’s priority list than school and food). Now, I fly through books. About 20 a year and my kindle is with me every day. I don’t ever want to be without it!
Insulation. Sounds super fun, right? But it was to keep my garage comfortable when I turned half of it into my studio!!
Pets and plants. My younger me would be so excited.
Buying clothes and food when I feel like it. 😭
A switch and a Miyoo mini, fancy illustrated books and expensive stationery, a whole box full of Sylvanians ( some of them from Japan!!!) and 18 build a bears + 2 American girls with a box full of clothes!
Growing up we weren’t exactly poor, and I had nice toys for bdays and Christmas and lots of books, but we always struggled with money, so being one of those children that were able to have a collection of their favourite toys, like playmobil, Barbie or polly pocket was just wild to me!
However, that taught me to appreciate the nice toys and more expensive books that my parents could afford to get me, and I still have most of them nowadays because I took really good care of everything 🙂 Also, I never got tired of my toys and my love for them lasted a loooong time, because getting a more expensive toy always was a special occasion to look forward to!
On the non-materialistic part of the question? Now I can “afford” to have and look after my own kitty!! She’s the most important thing that my adult money has allowed me to “have”. Knowing that all my hard work also goes toward providing for her and giving her a happy and healthy life would have been mind blowing for little me!! ❤️
The back pack i brought my daughter for her bday , it was the one I wanted as a teen but was ro poor to have it , she’s into anime so when she asked for it 🥲
I was a teenaged vegan in the early 2000s when there really weren’t many good options at all – we ate mediocre food and were grateful for it! Now it’s 20 years later, I live in the most vegan-friendly city in the southern hemisphere and I go to amazing vegan restaurants all the time.
Groceries and other stupid adult shit that I have to buy because I’m an adult.
The amount of plane tickets and holiday stays in hotels and B&Bs.
I grew up in a town of 1k people and all i wanted to do was escape and see the world.
Living the dream!
The window unit in my bedroom to supplement the central air
My mom would just kinda shrug and say “oh well” when I complained that my bedroom was roasting in the summer and that it was wrecking my ability to sleep. We had a nice house with central air when I was growing up but the sensor was in the primary bedroom which had vaulted ceilings and a ceiling fan. My room just would not cool down ever.
Having a supplemental unit in our hot bedroom is the kind of luxury I would have given anything for back then

Louboutin!!!
I spent $44 this week on a smoothie and an açaí bowl, delivered.
I have all the videogames I want. Used to dream about it
Books. Candy. All the ps2 games. Man im living kid me’s dream for sure.
