I was scalded by freshly brewed coffee that went flying and hit my throat. I remember seeing the coffee fly towards my face and turning my head. Next thing I remember is being on my knees in the grass outside of the tent crying in extreme pain while my father and brother were taking turns running with the 15 liters plastic water canisters to fetch water to pour over me to cool down the burn.
My appendix ruptured when I was like 30 weeks pregnant. It was so fucking painful. I just laid there in the dark hospital room, no books or TV, not wearing my glasses, just trying to survive until the next pain shot. Gah, I couldn’t lay flat for two weeks and I shat myself so so many times because of all the antibiotics I was on. (PICC line) I actually had a crazy butt rash from all the wiping, too, and my hands were so dry they were cracking from washing them over and over with harsh ass hospital soap.
Shingles. I’ve had a child. I had a pinched nerve on my spine. But shingles was the worst, and the pain lasted for months. Prescriptions for pain didn’t work, and it was during covid, so they couldn’t hospitalize me. They gave me meds to knock me out, and my husband said I would cry in my sleep.
the worst i’ve ever had was when I broke my wrist and they tried to set it. I’m normally a very amiable and friendly person but I cussed out that doctor’s entire bloodline like it was a reflex.
it was so bad I gave him a formal apology next time I saw him
