Never reveal everything you know. Ever.
I was raised with old-school work ethic (if someone gives you a job, you go give it your all, etc), and two particular things happened that I didn’t expect. 1) One time I finished a job that was supposed to take three days in a day, and did a flawless job at it, so the boss thanked me, paid me for one day, and sent me home. and 2) Someone took me aside and told me that if I actually wanted to rise in the organization, I didn’t want to be seen as the guy who’s good at the grunt-work, because all that’s gonna get me is more grunt-work.
Once you give your notice that you’re moving on, move on. They might see you as a key individual after you gave notice, but even if they match your offer or pay you more, they’ll resent you. What’s more, they’ll see you as having just gotten a raise, so you won’t get another raise for some time.
If they had valued you at your value, you wouldn’t have had to leave for them to see your value. Trust me because I learned the hard way twice. Move on.
