Whats you go to brands for clothing as in polo’s, t-shirts, shoes, shorts etc… that are casual wear, and casual evening wear?
I’m talking good fitting, quality without spending top dollar.

Whatever is in the sale rack closest to the door at the workwear store.
The only apparel brand that I insist by is Doc Martens for work boots.
Under Armour polos. Sneakers are Nike (Air Force 1’s, Jordans), Sketchers, or New Balance.
Rest of the stuff I don’t really have a go-to brand.
Uniqlo
Fred Perry, Ben Sherman
Disclaimer; I’m 41, so I buy things that are practical and comfortable. I no longer chase the latest trends nor do I care.
Causal wear (shorts, pants and jeans); Lee
Active wear and underwear; Under armour and recently experimenting with 32degrees
Business casual; whatever’s best fitting at Nordstrom
Casual shoes; Cole Haan, Bruno Marc,Dockers, Skechers
Business casual; Rockport
Cheap.
Polos – Alex Vando Golf shirts (Amazon)
T-Shirt – Carhartt Force Relaxed
Shoes – Vans, Lakai, or Brooks
Shorts – Patagonia Wavefarer Walk Shorts (Patagonia Worn Wear is good to check also)
Pants – Levi Athletic Taper (514 I think) or Wrangler ATG Jackson Utility
My Build: 5’7”, 170lbs, Athletic Frame
(Edit, struggled with formatting..)
The only thing I have a go to brand for is Brooks Brothers wrinkle free dress shirts, athletic cut. Look fantastic. For tshirts nowadays fuck 100% cotton, I want a light poly blend. Honestly some no name companies on Amazon have good polos too
All the brands I used to like got bought out and the quality sucks now
On sale items. If I want to look average, I’ll wear golf attire. Other than that, idgaf about clothing
Saucony + Dickie’s
Hanes for beaters, Ralph Lauren for polos, Levi’s for jeans… ✌🏻
The older I get the less I want a logo on any of my clothes
I don’t really have any. I’m not a fashion person and I hate spending money on clothes. You’ll rarely catch me in anything besides jeans or shorts and a T-shirt. When I need to I’ll buy whatever I think looks good and fits. Or whatever my girl wants me to get.
For jeans Naked and Famous and Red Tornado.
For jackets and shirts I do like Carharrt and Barbour.
For everything else whatever is cheap. Uniqlo is good for essentials and always reasonably priced.
For underwear Fruit of the loom cool zone.
LL bean
Sometimes George at Asda, sometimes Ralph Lauren, sometimes a fake black Lacoste which a pal gifted me from Thailand.
Costco broski. Hurley quicksilver rusty tee shirts and shorts and for nicer casual callaway polo’s all at Costco for way cheaper than anywhere else.
Bylt basics
lululemon is slowly replacing my button downs, polos, and nice pants. I was very surprised when I learned they make nice mens clothes and I love it!
Express is nice too, but I feel like their quality doesnt hold up as well as before and their color palette is pretty basic.
For Jeans, Levis.
For shoes, Asics all the way. Unless I need a need a pair of dress shoes, then I see what ai can find at Nordstrom Rack.
Rhoback. All day. Extremely comfortable.
50/50 or NextLevel brand shirts, gap flexfit softwear jeans, new balance 480s or 306s. For shirts i really like a tri-blend of cotton, polyester and rayon/spandex.
I like Columbia Sportswear and Levis and Underarmour
Gymshark for gym vests.
I hate spending so much on gym clothes, but I cannot find for the life of me any cheap generics that fit as well as their stringers – if anybodies come across any let me know.
Sneakers adidas ultraboost
The older I get the less I care about brands of clothing but my footwear has to be more comfortable so I spend money on that.
I like gap jeans and I buy them on sale and they last a long time. So much so that I’m still wearing the same pair from when I lost a bunch of weight. They’re big now but I like them still.
I even go to target for nice looking shirts and they go well with casual shoes and jeans. It’s not about the brand for me but the look and fit. You can look really good without having to spend a fortune.
Fabletics is my shit
Bear Bottom shorts, blank comfort colors t shirt.
Taylor Stitch for shirts, yeah they’re a little pricey but they’re super well made, well cut, and sustainably manufactured. I have shirts I’ve worn and washed 100+ times not exaggerating that still look great. Totally worth the price.
They do shorts and pants too but their cuts for bottoms don’t fit my beefier athletic build, won’t hold that against them, finding anything that fits my booty but isn’t huge in the legs is a challenge.
Under Armor
Psycho Bunny.
My three main brands are Uniqlo, Nautica, and Carhartt. Though I still love me a good pair of Levi jeans or DC shoes
Viagra
Costco clothing. Have yet to get a bad/poor quality item.
Brand wise:
Polos – Russell athletic has lasted the longest for me
Champion/Columbia – as long as they are on sale – have been reliable.
Are brands even still a thing? It’s all cheap garbage made in Asian sweatshops now…doesn’t matter to me what the name is.
Carhartt for work pants and t shirts, cinch for jeans. American made Double H for shoes they aren’t cheap but the way they hold up makes them worth the price.
I play a lot of golf and I’m telling you Duluth trading has Armachillo polo shirts that are worth every penny. I try to get them on sale but they’re better than any Nike or UA shirt out.
Costco, sams, etc. Idgaf about brands of clothes.
🤷♂️ I don’t shop brands.
Duluth Trading and Free Fly
The only Brand I actually look for is Carhartt. Not for everything but definitely jackets, and bibs
I’m a nurse.
I have company provided scrubs.
I only get the tops.
I buy my own Dickies scrub pants.
I will wear Cherokee as well.
I’m a “sturdy” fellow and have become set in my ways.
I have other cheaper scrubs that I CAN wear.
They are for emergency use, or pajamas.
For guitars: Alvarez and Takamine. If you’re going on stage, buy the best Takamine that you can afford.
It’s going to be less than a Taylor, Gibson or Martin.
And plugged in, nothing, including an Ovation can touch it.
Alvarez is the best value going.
If you want. Forever guitar, but aren’t looking to start in the $3,000 arena, a Mastwrworks or Laureate will blow them away for 1/3 to half the price.
Origin USA makes the best jeans in my opinion.
Shirts, lulu is really nice, I tend to wear a lot of monocolor dry fit shirts and theirs are great.
Hugo Boss.
It’s just fits me every time
J Crew is good for basics like nicer t-shirts and oxfords, but only if you buy on sale. Jeans are a tough one, I’ve been through so many brands now that they all mix crap in with the cotton but I’m back to Levi’s. Polos are Nautica — cheap and basic.
Hurley makes some decent quality clothes at reasonable prices.
I really like H&M polo’s. They’re usually pretty cheap and under 15 bucks and lightweight breathable for hotter weather
Good thread or whether it is at Target 🤷♂️
Carhartt and Legendary Whitetails
Calvin Klein
Johnston murphy
True classic are my love for t shirts. Levi 512s, and redwing iron rangers.
Carbon2Cobalt. love their stuff.
I can recommend Eton for everyone
This is going to sound wrong, but I find that Carhartt brand jeans can be VERY comfortable and affordable. The return on investment is huge. I’m wearing a pair right now that is at least 14 years old. Newer brand Levi’s wear out in just a few years and they haven’t mad a heavy weave in years.
I have a pair of Loggers from CH that are just six years old but they look brand new.
Cold water. Wash inside out.
The only other suggestion is get yourself measured/fitted for shirts.
It makes a huge difference.
Also make sure your shoe size is correct. Males blow out shoes constantly because they buy too NARROW.
Took me years to find out I was a EE width.
I have a hard time finding clothes that fiy me. I’m a smaller man and most mens clothing has gotten larger over time in my experience. I will wear whatever clothes fit me and look good. Couldn’t give a fuck about the brand lol. My only exception is vans. I know they really aren’t a high quality sneaker but i will forever be a vans wearer.
Jeans-Buckle (They’re expensive, though)
T-Shirts-IntoTheAM
Shoes: World Industries or New Balance.
I don’t know what evening wear means; why would I wear something different in the evening?
Jeans – Cinch
Boots – Justin and Redwings
Hiking Shoes – Keen and Merrell
Gym shoes – Chuck Taylors
Polos – Under Armour
Boxers – American Eagle
Jockstraps – C-IN2 and Nike
Gym shorts – Jed North
Shorts – Bass Pro
Love volcom . Fits lanky people well
ford. oh you mean clothes? wish has all the t shirts i want.
Lot of my t-shirts, socks and boxers are all Kirkland brand. Carhartt as well
Jeans – mostly Levi’s
Other stuff – Nike/Adidas
I do have some RL Polo stuff I wear on nice occasions. I’m not the best dressed guy out there but I’ll put an effort into looking decent at dinner or something like that
Fabletics. Cheap and fits me.
Did True Classic for a couple years and made the switch to Fresh Clean Tees. I like the quality and the polos are my go to zoom shirt now
Wrangler cowboy cut jeans and a plain fruit of the loom tee. If I want to get fancy I put on a Wrangler pearl snap. My entire outfit minus my $400 cowboy boots costs less than $50.
F3 nation
Lululemon all the way. Their stuff just fits me like a glove. It looks nice, breathe well and holds up well. Not cheap but worth it for me
Costco
I go Rodd and Gunn for business Polos, they come in a few colours and go with slacks, jeans etc.
Shoes I go RM Williams, one brown pair, one black, they are expensive but you will never buy another pair of shoes again ( I’m not exaggerating there, I know people who have worn the same pair daily for 20+ years)
I recommend this brand highly and it’s Bylt.
Bylt is a great one that has a tech-nylon type fit and is tailored for a broad chest / shoulders fit, plus a tight tailor to the waist to give a nice V shape. Think Lulu Lemon but for gym rats.
Most of the shirts have the drop cut, and the LUX material is my favorite for work and casual. Washes well and maintains its tight fit, hang dry or tumble dry low.
I workout and lift weights, so it fits well on a muscular body where some other straight-fit cloth tees has me looking like a straight door.
Have many long sleeve, short sleeve, and polo shirts from them.
Their pants are great too! The everyday Bylt pant 2.0 is a godsend and look stylish for work or casual outings.
I only spend money on good shoes, socks, and underwear. Duluth Trading is my go to. I predominantly wear Vans, Converse, and Kizik for recreation, work is either my Brunt boots or Sketchers safety sneakers. My feet are how I make money, so I have to take care of them.
Rag & bone
Shirts and polos I generally buy just plain or those pocket tshirts from Walmart, Target, and Kohls. Pants are a mix of Levis, some lightweight travel type of pants from Gap, and an old pair or two from Tesco. Shoes I generally just wear a pair of trainers. Asics. Socks and underwear are also what ever is on sale at Walmart. Hanes/fruit of the loom are the best imo.
Most of my wardrobe is very plain looking with few to no tags. I’m not really fussed anymore with brand names going into my mid 30’s. I would also say about half is secondhand items. Another key is I usually wait until sales happens. Black Friday, back to school, post season( winter & outdoor stuff mainly)
Barbour mostly. As I’m happily middle-aged, I’ve LONG since given up caring about brands.
Barbour because the stuff last and it falls in a price bracket I can live with.
Levi’s jeans
I like the classic t shirts from the gap. They’re like 11 bucks i think. Solid colors no logos, comfortable, cheap enough if one gets ruined IDGAF
Polos from gap, Eddie Bauer primarily.
Shoes – I like my new balance 508s and some Adidas. Oh and of course my chacos. I have some dress shoes but wear them maybe once every other year.
Fresh clean threads for t shirts that are long enough for me. They pill really quickly though so I need a new brand.
Stoner Island, Adidas
Lululemon, Rhône, Uniqlo
Whatever fits in the big&tall shop and i can buy four of.
Clothing is only for camouflage (think of it as widely as you can) & tempreture regulation.
I just take what is on top of the stack. In my age I do not care what I look like, there are so many other things that is way more important than fabrics. Humans fx.
Don’t really have one.
I like how it looks, I like how it fits, I like the price, and I’ll buy it. Exactly in that order.
🤷
Ariat
All Saints, Adidas, Levi’s, DMs, Converse.
Mostly from eBay or vinted
Theory. No logos in sight. Good quality.
Whatever’s cheap practical and comfortable, probably form Burlington coat factory, and without a logo if possible.
Banana Republic factory
J Crew factory
lululemon mostly
Polo’s – Country road, Rodd and Gunn, lots of nice colours and makes you look like a rich boye
T-shirts – I like “plus 2” who do tall person tees, I’m not tall but I have a long torso, meaning a lot of T-shirts show my tummy 🙁 If you’re a fat dude, then tall tees are the way, no more bum cracks! I also like Dri Fit shirts from Nike. Otherwise, it’s like oversized skater style shirts.
For shoes i like Globe’s “Wasted Talent” for a casual boot (sneaker comfort but looks great in the office) for casual shoes I like high top sneakers, a little puffy, think jordans for style but converse vans, nike for prices. speaking of Nike I also like Air Force Ones
Shorts and pants, smart clothes, button downs etc I usually get from Connor. I don’t love the look but it makes yoiu look generically beige which is much less risky than trying to look “good” and failing.
I also get around in a lot of tradie shorts (I’m not a tradie, they’re just comfy and hard wearing), which you can get from RSEA or Lowe’s. Theyre great for getting shit done on the weekend and honestly super comfortable.
If you don’t mind the tradie look, then my favourite boots are my pair of 9 inch oliver tradie boots. can walk in them all day, great for hiking, not that heavy, good for the yard, good for garage, gives you an extra inch or so of height, chicks digg a tradie too!
