I typically take a step back and try look at the whole picture of my life, usually it puts that feeling into a much clearer perspective. If that fails I just call one of my sisters for a splash of cold water to the situation.
Hugging trees. Yoga. Closing eyes and arm on heart. Laying on the floor. Bare feet on grass. Grounding guided meditations. Eating enough and drinking enough water. Alone time.
Grounding has been a work in progress for me. Lately when life feels overwhelming, I try to catch the spiral earlier before it sweeps me away.
On better days, I’ll do a body scan or go outside and feel my feet in the grass. On harder days, it’s smaller like turning off a podcast that’s making my brain race or dimming the lights to soften the room.
I also write a lot. Not polished journaling, just messy, honest scribbles that no one else will see. Getting things out of my head and onto paper helps me feel less stuck inside it.
What about you? What usually works when you’re in that kind of headspace?

Yoga. Even just 25 mins, with a 5 minute savasana, will reset my whole brain
