What’s your cure for swamp ass?

r/

I’ve had real serious swamp ass my entire life. So bad that it bleeds through my underwear and shorts/pants within 1 hour of being outside. About 10 years ago I actually went to a doctor and explained how badly I sweat down there and how embarrassing it is. He prescribed me some alcohol based roll on liquid that essentially clogged my pours, but even that wouldn’t last very long.

I’ve tried baby powder, sweat wicking underwear, free balling, deodorant, avoid sitting down, paper towels in the underwear, gym shorts, and seeing a doctor. The one thing that works decent is wearing dark colored gym shorts that don’t soak up the sweat (even though the sweat seeps through, it doesn’t show on the shorts).

Anyways, what’s your cure for serious swamp ass?

Losing weight and jogging twice per week stopped it completely for me

Look up an anti chafing cream. There’s levels of them. Literal lifesaver for me. Have to apply BEFORE it is needed not during.

Looks like you’ve explored quite a few options but not the obvious one: I’m sure there are specialized underwear for exactly your case out there.

My girlfriend got me a bottle of this anti chafe lotion. It starts off as a lotion and as you rub it in it turns into a powder to absorb moisture. Prevents swamp ass and now my junk smells nice.

At this point, I would be desperate enough to try menstrual pad

With the temperatures we have, it’s just inevitable. In 40+ °C heat, you’re going to sweat. Profusely. From everywhere at once

    Showering daily, hope that helps.

I don’t have this problem, so I’m just guessing, but as a former motorcyclist, riders have a product that’s called, I think, “monkey butt powder”? Try looking that up.

some of the steps i’ve taken over the years that cumulatively have had 100% success.

    • Showering every morning. Dry off well afterwards.

    • Going commando during summer/humid times.

    • Don’t scratch it! Scratching is the worse thing you can do! Ignore it until you can shower and put on clean clothes.
      and finally and most importantly!

    • NO SOAP ON YOUR BUTTHOLE!
I know, it sounds weird/dirty/bad… but this was an absolute gamechanger for me. After reading a very thorough reddit post 5ish years ago. I stopped using soap on my nether regions. quick water hand scrub only from bellybutton to knees. Using soap down there dries out my skin too much, making things itchy and excaberating the problem.

    • Using hot water cycle and hot drier cycle for underwear (or pants/shorts if it’s commando season), long john’s, towels, and sheets. anything that touches your butt/balls.

    • Never EVER leave your clothes in the washer undried for longer than an hour or two. Especially in the summertime.

none of these tips are science or medically informed, just my personal experience vanquishing an awkward foe that plagued my summer festival/hike/work experiences for far too long. good luck

All these remedies you have listed are temporary solution for your problem, respectfully. Long term to completely eradication of odor is possible; you simply need to look at the routine and body. You don’t have to answer my question for others to see but genuinely see if these questions may be your case.
Are you overweight, medically speaking? Do you have medical conditions that may cause the smells? What is your diet? Do you clean yourself properly? Do you drink enough water?
Genuinely, lack of water; causes buildup in pores and you’ll get acne. Poor diet and/or with certain foods can make you smelly. Being overweight makes managing the body harder and tend to smell more.
Sweat more; seriously sweat yourself out SAFELY; could help.
Possible Cure for swamp ass; watch what you freaking eat; sweat more, shower, and drink some water!
Everyone is completely different these are some points that were game changers from me. Good luck.

So, experienced swamp-asser from Southeast Texas. I pretty much just let it happen and then shower afterwards. The trick is to not overthink it at all and like, tell the internet you’re embarrassed about it. Just throw a towel down on your car seat before driving home and take a shower, nobody else gives a shit that you’re sweating at the gym or while outside in the sun.

Not sure there is a cure my friend. I suffer from the same issues you describe. In this heat and humidity you might as well embrace it bc it’s inevitable. For me cotton makes it worse. I’m a bigger guy so I’ve been wearing Duluth trading clothes for years and can vouch for them. Their shorts are great and breathable, same with the boxer briefs they sell. I also swear by their jeans. I still have swamp ass but it is definitely noticeably less vs wearing other brands/types. Could be hyperhidrosis too. I believe I have that issue as I’ve always sweat more than my peers. I sweat excessively under the arms too even in the winter. You aren’t alone my friend

Go vegetarian for 2-3 months – seriously. Not telling you to be vegetarian for life, just try it. Then, go back to your normal habits. Sometimes the body just needs a break

Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but I know Botox is sometimes used for overly sweaty pits/other areas.

Talk to your doctor to see if that may work for you!

Bonus wiping. Go to the bathroom and wipe every hour or so.

I used to have it bad when I was a teenager and in my early twenties. It was from being anxious and nervous that caused mine. I had to force myself to learn that it was mostly all in my head, and thinking about it made it worse. And also if you have to poop, you poop. Don’t hold in poops. I thought people could smell my swamp ass but I learned to get over it. Use thicker cotton briefs to help sweat absorb. I never wear loose fitting boxers or boxers made from plastic in public. Learn to be comfortable with yourself and your body.
