People don’t usually offer me hugs, so I tend to be the one to give hugs to others. I hope my hugs give some sort of comfort to the receiver even if I am accidentally doing it out of my subconscious
New Year’s Eve. She’s my mother’s age, and I feel that I have a relationship with her way better than I do with mom’s. Too bad it’s not approprate to hug her that often.
If hugs as a greeting count then it’s been 2-3 hours, if only warm fuzzies hug it’s been two days, if my girlfriend doesn’t count then a little less than a week. Most of my friends are very affectionate so it’s never very long between.
March 9th lol. It was a great hug. I could get a hug from my mom right now if I really wanted one, and this sounds weird but, I don’t like hugging my mom because her skin is TOO soft and it feels weird sensory wise 😂
This afternoon. My 1.5year old constantly toddles over, holds her hands out and says ‘cuggle’. How could I resist such an offer. She then snuggles in and either shoves her hand down my top or tries to shove it into my mouth. So snuggly.
Last night. My mom and I have a little goodnight ritual that involves our own handshake, a hug with back scritches, and then she does the alien brain eater hand move on me lmao
We started being more affectionate after her mom died 🙁
Pretty often. I have worked very very hard at being easy to hug, asking people if they need a hug, and hugging well. It’s not easy for me but it pays off.
The kids in my class all hug me and they are sweet and genuine in their gesture, but sometimes I just want to start class without worrying what liquids they just put on my clothes 😅
Well I am quite young compared to some of you, but I vividly remember the last time I got a hug, it was 2 years ago. I have been hugged around 3-4 times throughout my entire life
I have kids so I get genuine warm hugs all day, but I haven’t hugged my husband today since he left for an appointment early this morning so it’s a serious oversight I plan to fix at dinner.
I work in residential behavioral health/addictions, and when people are about to leave, pretty common for them to want to hug everyone. It’s a type of “thank you for helping me save my life” thing that just doesn’t really compare to anything else
Today. My wife. I do give hugs to strangers though whenever I can if they consent cause I know people might need it I have massive social anxiety but hugs are always nice to give.
Years. After my Dad’s funeral, while I cried in my former boss’ arms. The hug stays with me still. I will never forget it. People never know the true value of a hug until they’ve been without one for a very long time.
I give the hugs. I give a few every day at work, especially because it’s been so unhappy lately. And I always hug my friends and loved ones and animals. It makes me smile to see someone’s face light up from a good hug.
Virtual hug to all of you who need one and aren’t dingleberries who harm animals or defenseless people or multiple other limitations that I’m too tired to write out.
Hm…. Hard to tell tbh. My NCO hugged me after I was on deployment attending a funeral for my grandma. That felt genuine. So about 4 years? But I’ve had other hugs since that didn’t feel malicious or whatever.
When i was a teenager i could kill for a hug that’s how bad my mental health was , never got it though, but now i just hug myself tap on my head and listen to ASMR
