When you buy football jerseys, do you get the brand name or the dupe?

r/

For example, if you’re from Argentina or Mexico, do you get the Adidas jersey or the dupe jersey of your countries’ football team?

Usually people will have one brand shirt (if any) and several bootleg ones. Originals are pretty expensive.

I only have one jersey and it’s the original Adidas Colombian jersey. But I got it discounted in an outlet.

I’ve been very close to getting the original one for my local team but they’ve changed sponsors and the quality/design has been crappy. Kinda want a scarf.

The only two other jerseys I had as a kid were bootleg. One for the Italian national team with a “Roma” label inside. And another Colombian team one. That one was 4 usd and the quality was incredible. I walked into an Adidas store to compare it and it was a 1-1 copy. Even the tags and holograms were perfect.

I went to Argentina in november to see Botafogo crowned champion there. Traded one of my original botafogo jersey to a very old racing original one. Right before they beat our shit in the recopa 😂😂

I was afraid it was a fake one, but I met another racing supporter who reassured me it was original.

Btw the original jerseys in Argentina were CRAZY EXPENSIVE. I would say 30 to 40% more than a brazilian original one.
