Where is better to live in?

r/

Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, Dallas, Austin, Nashville, Florida (not Miami), Salt Lake City.

I’m from Spain (Canary Islands), I’m a man, young, single (who wants to find a partner to have (maybe) a family (I’m straight btw), I like the outdoors, nature, etc.

I don’t care about politics but maybe I’m aligned more with conservatives than with liberals.

    I would rate them:

    1 Austin

    2 Nashville

    3 Florida (not Miami)

    4 Salt Lake City

    5 Los Angeles

    6 Denver

    7 Las Vegas

    8 Dallas

None are good options (besides maybe SLC. LA is absurdly expensive and not a good nature place. LV is even worse for the same reasons. Denver is also expensive but much better on the part of nature. Austin is in Texas (the worst state in most metrics), Nashville is racist (from what I hear from friends who have lived there) and also Tennessee (terrible laws), Florida is extremely expensive and with laws almost as bad as Texas, Slat Lake City is fine. It’s not exiting but it’s fine. I would say for a nature lover, north is usually better (and usually cheaper).

I’m shocked you’re even contemplating the USA right now. You’re a foreigner so you can’t afford to “not care about politics”.

You’ll probably want to look at Atlanta.

Listing Florida (not Miami) is so funny.

Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, Lake Okeechobee, Daytona, will all grant you different lives.

    Side note.

What kind of nature? Florida has great areas, beaches, parks, springs but do Colorado Springs instead of Denver.

SLC is a culture shock you might not be ready for, but pretty.

Nashevilles overrated, not sure Texas is what you’re looking for.

LV is in the desert, and LA is not where you move to.

You live in the Canary Islands man, that’s better than all those cities

If you like the outdoors and nature, then don’t move to Dallas because there is none. The metropolitan area is 100 square kilometers of suburbia with more than 8,000,000 people and at least 3,000,000 cars on the roads.

Of those options? Denver or Salt Lake City. I live in the Dallas area and have been to everywhere on your list.

Leaving Canarias… ok. But choosing USA over Spain?

Avoid LA at all costs. Everything else on your list is fine.

Good god dont move to any of these places. Every major city in america is a complete disaster

So these are pretty different places. Differen geographies, weather, cultures, industries…

    A few questions:

You’re from the Canary Islands, so I assume you’re used to warm, humid weather. What are your weather preferences? Have you ever been around cold weather or snow? Will you be sad not being near water, specifically? Or are you looking for something else?

What sort of landscape or geography do you like? Ie, islands, beach, plains, forests, mountains, lakes, etc?

What’s your education and career background? What industry are you in?

    Do you have connections anywhere?

    What religion are you?

Realistically I’d recommend you try out places before deciding, but this would help some. All of these, with one exception, are good cities (LA sucks, I wouldn’t recommend anybody move to the LA area unless they’re pretty rich and can live near water or are absolutely dead set on chasing a dream in entertainment), but they’re all pretty different.

I’d rate Los Angeles first. If you like nature I’d highly recommend considering other areas in California. Access to nature can’t be beat. The Bay Area is awesome.
