Apply?
Step one: Go to department website
Step two: See if that department is hiring
Step three: Apply
Step four: Pass all of the hiring process
Seriously, I don’t mean to be rude but if you can’t do the research and figure out how to become a cop, then this career isn’t for you.
Yeah. It’s really not that complicated. In fact, consider this the easiest investigation you’ll ever have.
Investigate who’s hiring.
Bro ain’t passing the written exam.
Start looking in the phone book and news papers ads for openings
First, you must hike to the top of Mt. Rainier and answer three riddles from a retired trooper monk. Then complete the Trial of Endurance—sprinting uphill while dodging flying donuts. If you survive, you’ll train in the secret academy hidden beneath a Denny’s in Spokane. Master the arts of Report Writing Calligraphy and Traffic Stop Tai Chi. Once you graduate, draw your patrol area from the Cop Hat of Destiny. Only then shall you become a true patrol officer.
Go to piblicsafetytesting.com and search for openings. A lot of WA agencies use it for their initial testing. There’s a lot of agency-specific info on their such as pay rates, disqualifiers, testing info, etc. You can use that to identify where you might want to work and from there do your research on the agency to decide if you want to apply.
I believe you have to be sponsored by an agency to attend the academy in WA, there’s no self-sponsoring, but don’t quote me on that.
