She’s young, super progressive, and female. Easy to see why the right hates her, but realistically she’s one of the few voices of reason in modern U.S. politics. Would vote for her in a heartbeat if she ever ran for President.
Adam Sandler. Sure he played a goof in a lot of his movies but he’s also very capable of doing more dramatic roles (Punch Drunk Love, Uncut Gems, Reign over me).
Chris Pratt. People hate him for being a Christian, and I have heard countless stories about how he so cruelly and terribly trash talked his disabled child publicly… only to look it up and find out the great crime that everybody is mad about is that his wife had a baby and he made a post saying he’s glad to have a healthy child. 🤦🏼♀️ You know, like the thing that every parent in the world would say if they just had a baby? Smh. Interpreting that comment as him trash talking his other kid for being disabled is INSANE. That’s just about the least charitable and most ridiculous twisting of a situation I have ever seen. And I’m turning off reply notifications for this post because I already know there are going to probably be a bunch of Chris haters here to yell at me about how awful he is, with no actual evidence of anything he’s done that is awful, because all they have is rumors and assumptions they’ve pulled out of their butt.
Also, Millie Bobbie Brown. She doesn’t look 40, she doesn’t look ugly, she isn’t annoying, and she doesn’t come across as full of herself or whatever everyone is always saying about her in every single post I’ve ever seen. I’ll see a video where she is just acting completely normally and not doing anything out of the ordinary at all, and the entire comment section is insults saying she seems to self righteous and full of herself. It’s freaking weird and baffling to me. I don’t get it.
I know she’s been talked about to death, But Chapel Roan. Like I’m sure she’s not perfect but so many people treat her like this ungrateful diva when her main thing is just that she doesn’t want people to invade her privacy. Even if she’s a public figure, everyone deserves to be left alone!!
(Also most of what she’s done has also been done by straight and male celebrities and nooooo one bats an eye when they do it lol)
Brett Favre deserves all the hate he can get. He has seen somewhat of a resurgence lately with the Aaron Rodgers doc and the change in the political landscape. The welfare scandal alone should have banished him from public view.
I realize this thread is about who doesn’t deserve hate, but take that misdirected hate from the top replies and place it where it belongs…on #4.
Salieri. Pretty chill dude. Mozart’s biggest supporter. Lent him his libretista so he could write Figaro. Took care of Mozart’s kid after he passed away.
Turned out he was actually a really cool dude who had heard of Jesus’ teachings and had sent soldiers out to ‘eavesdrop’ in on some of his sermons but they all reported back to him that Jesus was basically the equivalent to a ‘Roman Philosopher’ and many of them liked his teachings and agreed with much of what he said. So much so that when Pilate caught wind of the rumors that the Jewish leaders at the time were plotting against him, he personally called Jesus to meet with him to warn him about it and practically BEGGED him to ‘law low’ for a while, but Jesus refused. For more info read the Acta Pilati/Anaphora Pilati.
But yeah… turns out he was a chill dude who didn’t want Jesus to be killed and tried to give him a heads up…
Guy fieri is the butt of a lot of jokes but I knew a few people who interacted with him and he was nice. At most he’s overexposed? I don’t watch the cooking channel but he has to have like 7 shows on by now
Courtney Love. She’s incredibly smart and talented. She was demonized to the hilt by the media for being a drug addict while Kurt Cobain was/is regarded as an icon and saint. She was caught in a wild conspiracy theory about Kurt’s death when his biography explains how he had crippling depression and stomach problems since 7 years old on top of his heroin addiction. And that conspiracy was perpetuated by Courtney’s father who gave her LSD at age four and was never even in her life after that. Then her mom took her live on a commune where she was neglected. She’s not mom of the year for sure but considering what she had to work with at least she lived for her daughter. And the conspiracy theory still gets perpetuated by people who’ve never even researched anything to begin with.
That really depends on if you mean on the internet or in reality, because “the internet “ has a real problem with women celebrities and routinely hates on actresses or singers that have literally done nothing to deserve it
Probably Biden – left us a thriving economy and tackled inflation. Now we have this dumb fuck in the Oval Office starting trade wars with Allie’s and buddying up to little war monger Putin…
Dr. Anthony Fauci. All he did was give the most up to date medical advice for a global pandemic. But because a paper mask can completely shred “Mah Raghts!” he was vilified.
A baseball comes flying at you and you try to catch it and hes the bad guy. Everyone was trying to catch it he just happened to get a hand on it. The umpire ruled that the ball had broken the field of play and was in the stands when he hit it (if you watch the video its clearly coming down on the fan side of the railing). Everyone blamed him for the cubs losing the series. Not the fact that was not the last inning, the cubs already had a 3 game lead, but somehow it was all his fault and he got death threats.
Meanwhile those asshole yankees fans who held the players glove and arm back and ripped the ball out of his glove were made out to be heros in new york.
Does he go to a homophobic church? Maybe. So do 90 percent of the Christians you know. Including plenty of other celebrities who don’t get the hate for it that he does.
He made a comment about being happy his second child was born healthy. This was interpreted as a dig on the issues his older child has. Always felt like one of those “I like waffles” “Oh so you hate pancakes” situations to me. His ex wife has obly said positive things about him as a father in the media. I kinda figure if she wasn’t upset about it what right do we have to be upset about it.
I do get the argument that he’s overexposed. He’s been in a lot of big stuff over the last decade or so. But part of that is that stuff he’s in makes money so he keeps getting big roles in big projects.
I say all this as someone who loved his work on Parks and Rec, thought he did well in the GOTG/Avengers movies, and haven’t seen him in much else. Not a mega fan, not a stan for him. Just seems like someone people decided to hate one day and everyone jumped aboard.
Michelle Obama. Man oh man the right wing loves to pile hate on her. As first ladies go, she was excellent. She rarely waded into politics, and when she did it was mostly just to try to help people be healthy.
ICP makes some cringe music, and their fans are smelly, but they are one of the first hip hop artists to be welcoming to any and all people to their fanbase.
Benny Blanco. All of Twitter right now is just absolutely shitting on him for being engaged to Selena Gomez because he’s….. ugly?
Personally I don’t think he’s ugly and he seems like a decent dude who loves his fiance? I know some people don’t like him because they didn’t like his work on a Juiceworld album or something but like, idk I don’t think that warrants millions of people on social media calling him ugly. Especially since a lot of people don’t know he’s worked on like, a LOT of insanely popular songs for the last decade
I might be missing something but like, so far I don’t understand
Feel free to correct me if she’s done any terrible things that would negate this point but-
Seems like she just gets picked on because she’s an easy target sometimes. She was catapulted into childhood stardom early and struggled deeply with her mental health from childhood. She went in and out of treatment multiple times. She then had multiple strokes triggered by an overdose that left her with permanent brain damage, vision and hearing impairment (which is devastating for any creative).
And the internet turns her into a meme and calls her Poot Lovato (this one was really strange to me), and then she gets bullied for the crime of… coming out as non-binary and trying out they/them pronouns. It’s not unheard of at all for people to identify and re-identify and try different pronouns/labels when they’re figuring out their gender.
I guess there was the yogurt thing? And still, I think it wouldn’t hurt anyone to have sympathy towards people who are visibly struggling.
Bono—he was right, and forgiving much of the third-world debt is a good goal. These countries are being forced to pay debt that was stolen 40 – 50 years ago. They are not allowed to put their own money back into their countries’ infrastructure(or at least a large part) and instead are being made to pay off money that is long gone before anyone in charge now was on the scene.
Stella Liebeck, the namesake of awards for frivolous lawsuits. She was an 80-something-year-old who burned herself on hot coffee, for which McDonald’s was forced to pay her $2.5M for failure to have a warning. What went untold to the general public was the fact that she was badly burned and injured.

I get that she rubs some people the wrong way but she hasn’t done anything truly horrible

A lot of my fellow jews seem to think Phil Collins is an outspoken antisemite.
As far as I can tell there so no evidence of this whatsoever.

Ed Sheeran tbh. His music isn’t for me but he seems like a really decent person.

Dr. Fauci and that’s all I will say.
I know he gets a lot of love but some people hate him with every ounce of blood in their body. I don’t think Zelensky deserves that kind of hate.
Fauci
JK Rowling. God forbit a writer voices their opinions.
