Cheez its
My favorite snack is Dots Pretzels! (Red bag) little bit of spice to them!
Well, definitely check if they have any allergies or dietary restrictions. That can help you plan some.
I like fresh veggies like celery and carrots with hummus to dip them in. Chips and salsa are always great, too.
And have a wonderful time! 🥰
For me, charcuterie and wine. But also hummus, pretzels, and veggies.
When my friends come over, I usually have a fruit and cheese board with an assortment of crackers, and La Croix to drink.Â
Cherry Pepsi, Munchos chips, Andy Cap hot fries, Starburst, York peppermint patties, peanut butter filled pretzels
I work in the hospitality industry so hosting is my jam.. usually everyone is coming to my restaurant or my house or I’m still hosting but in their space.
Recently a friend invited me to a dinner party at her friend’s new condo. TBH I had LOW expectations. I brought wine and beer, but the host did all the food.
When we walked in, he had made his own little mix… pretzel rods, Goldfish, Gardetto’s, and baked cheese rounds. He had mixed it all together with some chili
powder and garlic powder, and drizzled olive oil over the top before baking for 20 min. Serves it in front ramekins and handed it to you from a tray when you walked in the front door.
This guy made a bread board with a baked brie with apricot preserves, assembled a shrimp cocktail platter with different kinds of sauces, made a chicken roulade main course with roasted carrots, and had lemon bars from a local bakery for dessert.
What struck me was how you could just tell that he was putting in effort and wanted to show people a great time. The food was relatively simple to put together, but you could just see the effort he went to to make things nice and elevate the experience for everyone. He made sure cold stuff stayed cold, hot stuff stayed hot. He left plenty of room for me to set up a little beer and wine station to do pairings for everybody, and made sure the seating was not only comfortable but efficient for eating and sharing space. The thoughtfulness made the night so great! We love hanging out with these awesome humans now.
Long story short… if the person can see that you put effort and thought into your snack selection… you’ve won!!!
Chocolate covered pretzels. Yes!
If you’re hosting – a mixture of finger foods and lighter snacks is nice. Things like chicken tenders with dips, jalapeno poppers, mozz sticks. You can get all those frozen. Then chips and dip, maybe a veggie plate, cheese and crackersÂ
I’m a chips person. The crazier the flavor, the better. Plus an energy drink or a German beer (beer + Coke/grapefruit juice).
Apples and peanut butter, smoothies, Veggies and humus or hard boiled eggs, muffins or oat bars, kale chips, cookies and fruit.
Popcorn and candy, or snacks of the crunchy variety.
Drinks: if not alcohol, then italian soda or milk tea (boba pearl optional). My cheap imitation of italian soda is mixing fruit juice and Sprite.
Food: if its informal then packed snacks are fine. I like popcorn the most. If hosting a large group, a variety of salty and sweet options that others have mentioned.
I remember the best night conversation I had with friends were cheap beer and a single whole roasted chicken in the middle of the coffee table and we’d pick strips off the chicken with our bare hands while chatting. Yes we were so drunk at that point.
