I’ve been to almost every state, in my experience the list toppers are: Hawaii (they hate the mainland “haoles” but kinda understandable considering the dark past), Idaho (weirdly everyone there talked so much shit to me about their own state but they also hated outsiders?? very odd combo lol), and Texas.
Honorable mention to Utah, though I did not find it particularly “hostile,” it definitely seems like quite an insular place.
I don’t know. Idaho, maybe. Use to live in Montana. They weren’t really hostile (unless you were from California) but more leave me alone. Criss the border though amd some of the towns you got the feeling that they were getting ready to throw you out
As a black person from the east coast, most of the southern and midwestern states. Confederate flags and hating black folk for their own created problems seem to exist still.
Not just a state but any small town in the US. They won’t be necessarily hostile but you will get a barrage of moronic questions from anyone including waiters and cashiers. Stuff like, “oh, what’s your accent?”, or “where are you from?”, or “what brought you here?”, or my favorite, “oh, do you like it in the United States?”

probably west virginia, right?
Jersey is stacked with assholes.
California have too many bloods and crips. They also marked their territory so be careful what you wear out there.
Depends on the type of outsiders. Southern states are welcoming if you’re cis White, but extremely hostile to anyone else.
Texas. 100%
That would most definitely be Texas. They have barbed wire at the Mexican border hoping that illegal border crossers get caught up in it.
Hawaii. If you’ve ever lived there, you know.
Oregon

Hawaii, but deservedly so. Mainlanders keep coming in thinking they own the joint.
Alaska, have you seen cold it gets up there, pretty hostile if you ask me…
Y’all never been to Hawaii have ya?
just so few on the internet in Idaho to explain how much Idaho hates every other fucking state and actively show it every chance they can 😭
Maybe Hawaii but I don’t blame them.
New Hampshire for sure
Idaho
Colorado. Go away
Texas
Delaware. They hate people from NY, MD, PA and especially Jersey
Any red state is awful
Washington State or Texas, both of which don’t like transplants ruining their cities… looking at you California!
Hawaii.
What’s the difference between a yankee and a damn yankee? A yankee goes home.
As an American, most of them
Utah. Hands down. They may act nice to your face but they don’t want outsiders there.
Its current state
I’m sure there are worse ones, but sweet Jesus the attitude towards anyone from outside Utah is fucking wild.
Tennessee
The state of Aroostook County, Maine.
Arkansas.
Most sundown towns of any state.
Hawaii lmfao I’m Mexican so they just thought I was Filipino/Polynesian so I never got shit but god damn poor haoles lol
Alaska. But not from the people. From the environment. Alaska itself with fuck you up and spit you out if you’re an outsider and not prepared.
Hawaii is bad but Idaho…Hawaii might be rude but Idaho they low key might kill you.

Vermont. People call Vermonters “flinty” which is another word for rude.
Hawaii
I would say new Jersey, specifically south Jersey.
I grew up there and dealt with the public schools and working in retail.
It’s bigoted as fuck. People hate anyone that’s not straight and white.
Arizona weather is pretty hostile in the summer if you’re an outsider not used to it.
I would say Idaho… I don’t think I need to explain myself much.
Tennesseans hate everyone who isn’t born there

“No, I hate it. That’s why I’m here.” 🤦♂️
