While applying to NJSP should you click yes to have ever been convicted of an indictable offense if you have an expungement?

    Yes. You couldn’t have an expungement if you didn’t have a criminal record.

    No matter what anyone says about sealed arrests, expunged, diversion, or whatever the term a criminal court uses these incidents will never go away. As a street PO I can find records that are decades old in a minute or two. A background investigator probably has access to more systems and they have nothing but time to find them

    I have an expunged felony and cops have seen it when pulling me over in the past. They’re always amazed and say “it must’ve been pretty expensive to do that, huh?” Then are shocked when I say no I did it all myself.
