Who donated so much money towards the murder accused in Texas track meet stabbing and why did they donate it?

r/

I am really confused as to who’s donating so much money towards a murder accused especially since the victim was innocent?

    Idiots.

Being real, they look like they are well off already, so probably wealthy friends and the BLM community

It’s a crime involving a white person and a black person that got national attention. It quickly became a political hot topic and many of the donors are politically motivated.

    Oh, this questions again.

People donate money because thats what they want to do.

What research have you done on the incident? What do you mean by innocent?

From what I read the boy who passed was the aggressor in the situation and while I don’t necessarily believe that stabbing him was the best course of action I can’t really speak on it because I wasn’t there to see it or do I know what was going through the mind of the accused.

As far as reasons for donations I’m sure each person has their own reasons but I would be willing to bet that no one wanted a high school student to lose their life. Most people want both sides of the story to be told so that there can be a just conclusion. This wasn’t a case of some hoodlum or thug going out of his way to attack someone this was an incident between two students who were both scholars and athletes that unfortunately ended with one of them losing their life.

It’s 100% a race issue for a lot of people it seems. I’ve seen comments all over Facebook, Instagram and TikTok defending the murderer simply because he’s black. There have been a lot of lies coming out about the whole case, such as he was bullied by the victim, or that the victim punched him unprovoked.

Even if the evidence came out that the murderer was 100% in the wrong, people are still going to defend him. People make these cases an US vs THEM in this case black vs white. Looking at a lot of the comments it’s just racists against white people. BUT this goes both ways, when we have white on black murders you see some of the same things.

The woman who called a 5 year old a slur just hit $200k on her fundraiser.

Compared to the lady yelling the N word and getting 105k for it in a matter of like a day. Idk man. People need help.

People want to donate to make sure the kid gets a good lawyer.

To try to give an unbiased response…..

Right now the accused is just that – accused. This is a homicide, not a murder. He’ll go on trial, evidence will be presented, and due process will decide if he’s a murderer or not.

And getting a good legal defense in this country unfortunately costs a lot of money. Especially given the media circus that’s going to spring up around it.

To give a Devils Advocate view; the right wing and white supremicsts want to turn this into a race thing as much as anyone does. If they’re throwing money at it, people on the other side of the fence will too

America does not have a Justice System, it has a Legal System.

Too often the better lawyer is what determines your innocence. So the black community does not want to see another black child be steamrolled by the American Legal system especially in a red state. So people donate to make sure he gets the best representation possible.

Kyle Ritnhouse became a right wing hero after murdering someone. The act of Killing someone doesn’t automatically make you a social pariah in America.

Same reason that blonde lady that recently was recorded calling an autistic Black kid the N-word was able to raise a bunch of money. Some people support their own side, their own team, their own tribe, etc. even when they do shitty stuff.

Some people see an injustice now offsetting past injustices, even though the individuala are unrelated.

Media also fans the flames a bit. “Child stabs another child at track and field competition” just doesn’t get as many clicks as “Black youth stabs unarmed White football star at track meet”.
