The European Parliament has announced that they are introducing a European Order of Merit medal on the back of the 75th anniversary of creation of the European Union. According to the Parliament, this new civilian distinction will honour the achievements of individuals who have made significant contributions to European integration and European values
My question is what do you think, and who would you award?

Here specifically you’re asking a very general question type “what do you think?”
You might want to lead with your own opinion.
I think it should be retroactively given to ppl like Schuman, Monnet, Spaak, Mitterrand, Kohl, Veil, even Merkel maybe
Nominating Tony Gilroy for his production and writing of Andor season 1 and 2. Using Disney’s money to produce a new Star Wars cautionary piece of media openly against fascism, that’s set in a futuristic setting yet extremely relevant to the rise of far right we are seeing in Europe.
I think it would be a good thing to consider giving it to some core figures of the European creation, like Monnet et Schuman or this incredible meeting of two representatives of two people who fought in three wars in 70 years, Konrad Adenauer and Charles de Gaulle who gave a strong commitment into peace and construction of something great over the ruins of a recent deadly war.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
He is standing up for and defending European values against those who wants to destroy them.
Cecilia Giménez for her sincere attempts to restore the 19th century fresco of Jesus in Santuario de la Misericordia in Borja.
She united a continent in bemusement.
Living ones? Tusk and Wałęsa maybe?
Posthumous? Otto von Habsburg, Vaclav Havel, and if we dare go far enough back, Piłsudski?
Macron.
For standing on the defenders (Ukrainians) site even though he could just do nothing, being far away.
Because France produces much less CO2 than Germany.
