Why are MILS crazy towards DILS

r/

My side of the family did not give two shits about controlling me, especially my dad. No “daddy daughter” stereotypes there. But the boy mom stereotype on my husbands side was so bad he cut her off. Why does this happen.

Most of them can’t stand the idea of another woman in their sons’ lives. They think we’re taking their babies.

By contrast, my parents really liked my husband and my mother treated him like one of her own. They had a lovely relationship.

My mil can’t handle sharing the attention with me or her grandson. Whenever we have some big event happening good or bad, she has to create a crisis of her own. It’s almost always something that we can’t help with, or that is so small she could call a repair person for but prefers to call DH instead. My husband only gained a backbone after our son came into our lives.

Mine’s really into the Southren Christian perfect mother stereotype. Her delusional world where she’s the matriarch is much prettier than reality, where nearly all the family is dysfunctional and she’s had to raise most of her grandchildren.

My ex narc mil told others I replaced her. She treated me like the other woman. But she rejected me after we married, but seem to wonder why I wouldn’t fight to be accepted or compete with my ex sil for her attention. No thank you. I didn’t want a relationship with her as soon as I saw what she was.

It was so gross, she kissed him at a family function and looked at me like I was supposed to get jealous. Lol I wasn’t his mother… just disgusting.

For some women, a son’s affection is the only time in their lives of receiving male affection and attention without having to sacrifice sex and chores for it. It’s the first time they get unconditional affection and for some respect. And given how rare that is, many fight to keep it all to themselves because they believe that they deserve the whole pie and they deserve for it to never change.

🤷‍♀️ Idk and I give up trying to figure it out. My MIL blocked me last week so I’m just pretending I don’t have one anymore.
