He’s dynamic, a great speaker, veteran, and a proven leader, and an iconic American figure. If it takes a middle-aged white guy (Which we have too many of IMO) to win, why aren’t we building a pipeline for 2028? Cory Booker would be amazing as VP, and would give him a window at the top job.

If Mark Kelly wants people to talk about him, he’s going to need to do things that make people talk about him.
Just having a great resume and a background that people think would be appealing does not make you a politician that gets beyond their position in the Senate and becomes a national figure who can shape discourse. Most members of the House and Senate and even governors are fairly obscure.
Mark Kelly is on the news almost every day. I’m not sure who isn’t talking about him.
He’s obviously auditioning for 2028… but has a much more compelling backstory than current narrative.
>Why aren’t we talking about Mark Kelly?
We are. Not as much as the people giving us reasons to talk about them (Walz, Sanders, Booker, AOC, Newsom, & Whitmer).
>…why aren’t we building a pipeline for 2028?
We are. It starts with early jockeying for the 2028 nomination, which Walz, Whitmer and Newsom are all engaged in.
…but that is how it works in our system.

Im not supporting Mark Kelly as he is antigun. Really wish the Democrats had more people with better records on gun rights.
He is not a great speaker, I’m sorry.
I don’t know why, but nothing gets my patriotism flowing like an astronaut in politics.
Zero charisma, corporate stooge.
Don’t know much about him, but he’s got a good aesthetic in some of the photos I’ve seen. Like he could come across as a tough, masculine leader, which is so popular right now.
Cause he will be 65 in 2028 and we need to get younger
He’s great.
He’s better on paper than in reality. He’s pretty vanilla and bookish.
Because he’s just another in a long list of centrists who would inspire no one.
He is an ok speaker but not great, however, I don’t think this is such a dealbreaker. Trump is a horrible speaker, but his supporters love his rambling, they just hear whatever they want to hear. It’s more about overall aura/vibes. IMO Kelly has exactly the type of vibes(serious, competent, strong, “normal”) that Democrats need to win.
If he had his brothers personality and rizz he would be more talked about.
His anti-gun position will be a boat anchor for his campaign. He has cosponsored an even more extreme version of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban called the Gas-Operated Semi-Automatic Firearms Exclusion Act

After watching his speech at the DNC “dynamic” is not the first word that comes to mind.
Conservative democrats have got to go.
The five Democratic Senators who have voted with Trump most often so far are Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania; Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire; MARK KELLY and Ruben Gallego, both of Arizona; and Elissa Slotkin of Michigan.
Conservative Democrats include Newsom, Cuomo, Hochul, etc
