Why do I have a fetish for sick people?

I have a fetish for people who are sick, unwell, visibly in distress or discomfort. I like the idea of a typically healthy person suddenly falling into a vulnerable state. Or just the vulnerability of a person in general.

As a kid, whenever I watched any movies or shows that had scenes where characters got sick, injured, or fainted I would seriously hyperfixate on those scenes for some reason. For example, if a character fainted, I’d spend hours hyperfixating on that scene and imagine alternate realities/scenarios where the character was drowning, fainting from being poisoned, etc.

I never understood why I has these hyperfixations until I got older and realized it was a fetish. The idea of someone not having full control over their body is a really big turn on for me; I know that sounds messed up.

Fainting, puking, fever, chills, weakness, infections, poisoning. Watching somebody drown or suffocate. Even the idea of somebody needing to use the toilet/being desperate to do so. Anything that has to do with someone not having full control over their bodies, or somebody struggling to gain control over their body.

“Normal” sexual stuff doesn’t arouse me. I don’t like porn, or nudity, or anything that’s oversexualized. This is the only thing that I’m interested in.

While I don’t necessarily think it’s wrong, it does sometimes have me questioning if there’s something wrong with my brain, if some wires crossed incorrectly, or if I should see a therapist or something. Do other people have this fetish? Is there a name for it?
