why do we like every picture of a cat but not of a person?

r/

we think the rattiest and plainest cat is adorable and wonderful from just one glance and we would like be their friend but we dont seem to get this reaction of humans?

I don’t like every cat picture, if I do it’s probably something stupid like larry cat the diabolical war lord. Larry and bee boo cat edits. But that’s just because it’s silly not because it’s a cat necessarily lol.

I like all my friend’s pictures.

I do know what you mean though, some people think animals care about them more than humans. But animals can’t speak, so like… no matter what you do they can’t tell you that they don’t like you. They’re stuck with you, and although I do think they are rare occurrences, they’re animal at the end of the day, they choose themselves over you anytime of the day.

We’re wired to find subtle differences in humans and make judgements off that, because we’re humans and we interact within our own species.

Whereas with animals we’re more wired to judge species rather than individuals within those species. And domesticated cats have been seen as desirable and cute as a whole, to most people any cat is just a cat.

Cat’s faces (and bodies) are completely covered by hair.
