It would totally help the advertisement companies with honest feedback and engagement with their core base as well as new or returning (or leaving) customers
Because it won’t let me block the advertisers, no matter how many times I report them.
Because I need to let them know how wildly inappropriate the ads are for me. Example: Army recruiting ads, when I’m retired from the Army, disabled, and too old to enlist.
Because the ads are made to look like reddit posts, and scumbag tactics should be met with ridicule.
The entertainment value of the roasts that would follow, would make it worth seeing all these scummy ads.
Absolutely. Let me tell you how much I hate your company for making adverts that trick me into accidently clicking on them. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve clicked on a MoonPig advert thinking it’s a cartoon. Every time I’m like “I hate you”. The thing is, I used to use MoonPig all the time. Not anymore.
Because I receive inappropriate ads for things I don’t consent to see. Reddit shouldn’t get to push inappropriate ads at me and profit off it while giving me nothing in compensation. I wonder what ads kids see on the platform and if Reddit can be sued for showing kids some of the content I see in ads.
I do not click the ads in Reddit, but I do Google for Reddit comments about products. I’m sure advertisers also try to game the conversations as well as the search engine hits because of this, but it’s generally true that I find more honest reviews of a product lurking on a conversation than I do on the product review page itself.
If the advertisers actually wanted to know what people really think of their products you could have those type conversations right there. They may be able to incorporate the feedback.
This site’s value proposition comes from crowd sourced opinions and the company that owns this site doesn’t want us to comment on the ads they now run all over Reddit to keep the lights on ?
They should let us comment—there’s shitty ads on everything so let me complain about it !
Youtube ads are just youtube videos. There’s no reason why any youtube video should have its comments disabled unless it’s specifically a video for kids
So I’m fairly new to this page…..I have honestly never seen an ad and didn’t know it was a thing. I fucking hate ads and commercials. I keep a running list in my brain of the all time stupidest ads I’ve ever seen…the one with cheese in the gear stick gets me every time. I can’t be the only person to question A) why would you want to eat anything served in a gear shift and B) how the fuck are you going to clean it? Seriously should be hired just to tell them how stupid some of this shit is

It would be funny
I like penises.
Because ads deserve to be trolled

So they can be ridiculed.
It probably shouldn’t.

Open line of communication is good for understanding what your audience wants.
Also, the one liners would be absolutely devious.
If an ad wants to pretend to be a post, it needs to be treated like a post. Up votes, down votes, and especially comments.
I want to hear people complain.
Because I’m still salty I could not make a pithy comment about the fuzzy, pink, platform, Ugg sandles that popped up in my feed multiple times.
They deserved remark.
Leading the witness your honor
;p
Engagement is engagement.
That said, I can see why advertisers wouldn’t want this, considering 99.9999% of the comments would be trolls.
You have ads?

I dont care, I’m still going to ignore them. Oh look there’s more sub-ads than comments in this one. Thanks reddit! You’ve really gone to shit.
You send me one single SPAM email… Even if it’s not directly from your company. Kiss goodbye to my business. Instant life time ban.

The ones that are slipped in to look like posts should get treated like posts.
We should be about to troll and downvote them into oblivion.

If you don’t want to interact with the public GET THE FUCK OUT OF A PUBLIC FORUM. If you can’t handle your product being dragged IT DESERVES IT.

Advertisers deserve the negative feedback.
To make Reddit go bankrupt?
So I can respond to those stupid “He Gets Us” ads.
Because it would be a hoot to see the Reddit community TRASH most of these companies—for good reason.
Cause funny
No-one should go near the internet without adblock.
So the community can actually give the seller feedback and they stop wasting money marketing a bad product.

If it’s going to masquerade as a post, let it be treated as such.
Lmao.
I would pay a monthly fee that would let me leave comments on ads.
I am glad you get me, Jesus, now let me give you and these good readers here my take on you…
I like that the ad for the floor sealer has shit reviews. Saved me from buying it.
Consider them peer reviews for the product advertised.
So we can give the company constructive criticism /s
