It uses sugar instead of corn syrup and Coke isn’t the same everywhere. They tweak the recipe to each market. Thus some people like one version vs the other.
It uses real sugar, so it’s the true taste of Coke. American Coke like most other things uses corn sugar to sweeten things.
I’ve had a few Mexican Cokes total. It does taste a little different. The last few years I’ve started seeing big packs of it in glass bottles in Walmarts in my area. I think Costco has it too.
Because cane sugar is extremely popular compared to corn syrup. Yet corporations force corn syrup on us because otherwise all those good corn farmers and big ag would get upset.
The Coke thing goes back to World War II. The American version used sugar but they rationed sugar during the war. Coca Cola figured out they could sweeten Coke with corn syrup and just never went back because it’s cheaper than sugar.
As for the glass bottles — that, too, was the original way Coke came. In fact, Coke manufactured the syrup and shipped it to bottlers across the country. Those bottlers would blend the syrup and carbonated water, fill the bottles and distribute them to retailers. People could bring their used bottles back to the retailers (for a minuscule refund) and the retailers would send them back to the bottling company to be sterilized and reused.
This was also too costly and they eventually switched to aluminum and plastic — and took over processing, as well.
So the Mexican Coke is the Coke people in the 1910-ish to 1940s (and a tad earlier) made so popular before everything switched around but by then, it was a massive brand with huge appeal.
Here’s the thing it doesn’t always use real sugar. Sometimes if you look at the labeling, it’ll say contains sugar or corn syrup. Maybe it’s not high fructose corn syrup, but just regular corn syrup I don’t know. But there is a taste difference. Maybe it’s a little more citrusy?
Mexican Coke > American coke > RC w/sugar > RC > Pepsi w/sugar > Pepsi
My favorite thing about Mexican Coke? The fact that it’s produced pretty much entirely for export to the U.S. Buy a Coke in Mexico and it’s almost certainly going to be made with corn syrup these days.
it tastes better. And according to some, more like how US coke used to taste a long time ago.
If it was easy to import I think there would be a market for plenty of variant soda recipes. I personally would pay premium to be able to drink UK Orange Fanta.
For me, who drank plenty of Coke pre 1985 when they decided to monkey with it, (I’m convinced the New Coke/Coke Classic drama was how they switched to HFCS) it tastes like the before times.
Hi, I love Coke(the legal kind) and was introduced to the Mexican coke by some guys I worked construction with and the taste is different. Maybe it’s the glass, but to me it taste way better. It ranks up there with McD’s coke

Because the Mexican version uses real sugar, American version uses high fructose corn syrup.
Because it’s made with real sugar instead of corn syrup. There’s not a lot of soda options that use real sugar, so it has a niche.
The flavor is quite different. Mexicoke uses cane sugar instead of corn syrup and there are people who prefer the taste.

Mexican coke images real sugar instead of some chemical-based shit like in the US.
because it tastes different
it objectively tastes different. I don’t like coca cola much, and so I don’t drink it much, but you can TELL.
Because Mexicans do it better.
It uses sugar instead of corn syrup.
Mexican coke is best coke. Can’t beat cane sugar and a glass.
Because it’s made with cane sugar, thus tastes better/smoother than the US corn syrup Coke.

I was always told it tastes like the original recipe coke. (not the one with cocaine)
this should just about answer your question: and piss off a bunch of people in this thread 😅

Everyone has the cane sugar/corn syrup answer.
My favorite thing about Mexican Coke? The fact that it’s produced pretty much entirely for export to the U.S. Buy a Coke in Mexico and it’s almost certainly going to be made with corn syrup these days.
It tastes much better than ours.
Ironically Mexican Coke sold domestically has HF corn syrup not cane sugar.
Higher quality ingredients (real cane sugar) packaged in a higher quality container (glass)
It’s kinda funny we need to import to have that but ¯ (ツ)/¯
it tastes better. And according to some, more like how US coke used to taste a long time ago.

It tastes so much better! Plus, the tall glass bottles.
Because it’s the best
It’s made differently
For me, who drank plenty of Coke pre 1985 when they decided to monkey with it, (I’m convinced the New Coke/Coke Classic drama was how they switched to HFCS) it tastes like the before times.
