You know why.
The algorithm personalizes to you over time. If you reset it, it goes back to the default algorithm for people similar to you (age, sex, location, and other demographics.)
If you are still getting soft core porn after resetting the algorithm it just means other people with your demographics like it and the algorithm is guessing you do too.
Rather than resetting the algorithm to baseline you need to overload it with your own personal taste. Like as many things you actually are interested in and it will override the default and you will see a lot less of random sexual stuff.
You will still get a lot of sex stuff even if you really express what you like because the algorithm is always trying to find new stuff you may like… and it mainly uses what other people like as a suggestion and lots of people like sexy stuff (and a lot of people like selling sexy stuff.)
There’s no escaping it other than quitting Instagram. But you can reduce it.
