Will practicing combat sports make me to become more brave?

Simply put I am a coward and always to confront people even when they disrespect me to joke on me

I am tired. So I am thinking if combat sports be able to fix that ?

    need to learn to brush it off your shoulder. if these people are being violent, then maybe combat training could help.

    It helped me. I’m always still scared and nervous before I run a fade / fight. But once I know what they’re working with ( how hard they punch ) it game on.

    I had some dudes try and fight me out side a store cause I was in there hood lol. They cursed me out and swung toward me. I squared up, looked at their fighting stance and realised they couldn’t fight and whoop their asses.

    It taught me confidence. Allowed me to stand up for myself knowing I could protect myself (weapons involved, they win I’m not looking to eat lead or a blade). In the end, it actually allowed me to avoid more fights than I otherwise would have. I’ve taken a beating in a fight and given them.

    There’s an old saying that might help you here.
    “Running blindly into combat without fear is not courage; it is foolishness. Doing what you have to do EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE AFRAID is true courage.”
    Find what you are afraid of, and face it. Chances are the main fear right now for you is fear of getting hit. OK, so go somewhere where you get hit, and learn to hit back.
    Any reasonable person has some fear in any confrontation. You are not broken, or damaged, or weak. You just have some things to learn.

    Maybe, but indirectly. The confidence that comes with facing potential harm, the discipline of training, and stress management that could result can do a lot for a person.

    It’s in how you take the reason that will be important. The ability to perform violence is in itself not the way.

    Practicing combat sports will prepare you for conflict, but experience is the only thing that will make you less afraid of it.

    If you consider bravery as the absence of fear, then no it probably won’t help. But if you consider bravery taking action in spite of fear, you’ll probably do great.

    I was at a high school football game standing by the fence and there was just rather obnoxious young man beside me. He was young, in his mid-20s, very muscular, and obviously he had a chip on his shoulder. Everyone was giving him a wide berth.

    This older (63 years old to be exact) Lee county sheriff deputy come up very calmly said “excuse me, but you to have to leave.”

    The kid swung his arm upwards, knocking the sheriff’s hand off his shoulders and spun around to face him. The deputy calmly said, there’s no call for that son, let’s just walk to the gate. I handed my wife my cell phone and wallet figuring that the old man might need a hand. I had intended to move behind the young man in case there was a problem. Before I could act the kids shoved the man, and before even I knew what was going on, the old dude took the guy all the way to the ground subdued him, rolled him over, and was putting the cuffs on him.

    The old dude wasn’t so much a badass, but was rather very confident in what he could do. This is what good training and years of practice will instill in you as well, the confidence to know exactly what you can do.

    Whatever sport you practice, if you want to prepare for real world experiences, make certain this sport allows you to practice by making actual contact with your practice opponent. Otherwise you’re just there to learn great morals and values, which is great, but will not prepare you in muscle memory if you ever need to use what you learned.

    Kick boxing, it’s not the fighting, it’s a frame of mind and usually by body language they will walk away. I’m a black belt but don’t tell anyone but something in my eyes shows them I won’t back down so they do

    I think what you are looking for is discipline and kick boxing , boxing or jiujitsu all provide what I think you are looking for..

    Probably. I’d combine that with conversation skills, though. If you’re confident enough in communication skills, you shouldn’t need to fight. Train both and hope to only need one

    Judo has many benefits and it isnt as “meathead” as some of the other fighting sports.

    Not a martial artist, but it seems like it’d build confidence, at the very least.
