John Romita created Wolverine to fight Hulk. We know how the comics did the fight between the two. If the original intentions were fleshed out more, I’d be willing to bet that universe would be more popular, in hindsight of course. Both Hulk and Wolverine are two of the most iconic characters of the marvel universe and the movie adaptation of their epic fights would be awesome. Imagine Maestro vs Logan, or something like X-23 vs General Ross being hashed out on the big screen. Epic.

Wolverine is a loner killing machine and the xmen are bunch of teenage do gooders. Never made sense
X-Men would have flopped without Wolverine breaking his adamantium back to carry the series.
Such an awful take. Not that I wouldn’t like to see them fight but saying he shouldn’t have been added to the X-men is insane

Maybe you should not over analyze a comic book and just suspend disbelief for a moment.
You need to get your facts straight before offering such an odd opinion.
John Romita designed the Wolverine costume, but he did not create the character.
Roy Thomas created Wolverine, writer Len Wein wrote the story of Wolverine in Hulk 181/182 in 1974. He was originally a throw away character.
The original X-men comics ran from 1963 to 1970 when they were cancelled due to extremely poor sales.
In 1975, the year following Wolverine’s first appearance, the new X-Men comics were introduced, including Wolverine. This became the most recognized title of Marvel and was a huge success.
I disagree…. I think the Xmen benefited from him but being an Xman benefited him too. Not sure he would have broken out as a solo star without them.
