I always think, 10 years from now I’m going to wish I looked like I do today

hmm, trying to tell myself that not everyone can get to be old so it’s a privilege.

I always think of Dame Judy Dench. Isn’t she awsome. Then a hero formed right before my eyes..Momma had dementia and I was her caregiver. Show was amazing. I could go on and on about how beautiful she was. Her hair line was going back. I would say I’m so sorry. She said I’m not dying. This was before the dementia. My hair line is receding. At least I’m not dying!

She was beautiful to the day she passed. A true southern lady. Do you know how some ladies have that pinky out when they drink? Momma never did it on purpose. The very last time she was able to hold a glass – you guessed it – that pinky was popped out. What grace and beauty. If I can only carry myself like momma… ♥️

Embrace? Is there like a list to follow for each decade you enter or something? I’m not sure I understand what we’re supposed to do. I’m just here existing.

Older really is wiser. I enjoy myself and my life so much more now in my late 30s than I did when I was younger.

    Rejecting older men

Ive never really thought about it to be honest I try to live everyday and I’m thankful for that day.

I’m excited to be able to do life, especially healthily.

Teenage me didn’t think I’d live past 20, so every day is a privilege im grateful for.

By not assigning a lot of importance to it. I genuinely don’t understand why people panic over reaching their 30’s 💀 Like genuinely, who cares? It’s still you and there is no point to ruminating over it

I don’t ever think about my age. I really could care less and I’m living a good life.

Trying to act my age, not my look, and trying to maximize whatever I have and can still do. I look pretty young for my age so I tend to be treated like I’m in my early 20s, but I’m already turning 30 this year so mg energy is not the energy of people younger. Lol.

    i’m not sure it’s
embracing but trendy trainers with all my dresses

By acknowledging the only reason we “hold that standard” is bc men like ‘em young 😐

Bc no seriously, why does society devalue women for aging?

  14. Ill_Sherbert1007 Avatar

I repress it, like every other human.

My children are gaining more and more independence, flying the nest, if you will. I am regaining some me time. I’m 51 and I love it. Who cares if people think I’m old. The cure for old age is death, plenty find the cure. I have so much knowledge of life, I am confident and strong. I give zero fucks and take up space.

I just don’t care lol. I’m 31. I was excited to hit 30. I thought that was kinda cool. I have a few grey hairs popping up on the sides of my head. I also think that’s cool.

Maybe one day I’ll care, but for now, I’m just livin

I just look at the maturity that comes with it. I prefer to be old, but calmer, wiser rather than young, slim but emotionally immature

I’m not sure that I do, particularly. I don’t hide it, either. I’m 61. It’s just the number of years I’ve been around. It doesn’t mean any more than that.

Remind myself getting older is a privilege that not everyone gets the chance to do… and how weird people look at 60+ when they chose to delete their smile lines.

I look great, I feel great, I have the money and the lifestyle I wished for when I was younger. So that. Being happy with where I am in life!

I nearly died just before my 25th birthday from a hemorrhaged tumor. A younger friend of mine died soon after turning 15 from cancer. A woman I knew as a kid from church ended up killed in the evacuation of Afghanistan.

I’ve learned that a long life is not guaranteed and that the time we do have is precious. So I try and make the most of it by doing things that I love, being with my parents, trying new adventures that stretch my comfort zone, and fulfilling my lifelong dream of becoming a mother aven though I’m 40.

I don’t think anyone embraces aging in adulthood. Our bodies are deteriorating until we eventually die off. The less vain a person is, the less anguished they’ll feel about losing their looks (which we’re all taught are super-important from when we’re little kids).
