    Too much mustard or Mayo

  10. Cautious_Ice_884 Avatar

    Pickle.

I freaking hate pickles and the smell & flavor lingers even after you picked it off 🤮

  11. sirenoverboard Avatar

    Yellow Mustard. Pass.

  12. sliseattle Avatar

Too much spread. Hate a wet, sloppy sammy

  13. ChiedoLaDomanda Avatar

When the meat slices are not “flowered” or arranged up to allow for more air flow; when you just put slices of meat stacked up in your sub like sheets of paper – it’s the WORST! You don’t get a full flavor profile, AND you will likely have ALL of your meat fall out of the sandwich when you take a bite – it just slides right through your grip. Awful!!

  14. bbspiders Avatar

I hate when the ingredients aren’t evenly distributed. Or when there’s a huge chunk of meat and barely anything else. I want a nice thin layer of each ingredient in each bite. I always take my sandwiches apart to redistribute everything before I can eat it.

  15. Flimsy-Ticket-1369 Avatar

    Too much mayo. Yuck!

  16. RosinDustWoman Avatar

    Onions if they’re overpowering. Sogginess.

  17. heidismiles Avatar

Mustard. I don’t even want to smell it anywhere near my food.

  18. starryvelvetsky Avatar

Miracle Whip being used interchangeably with Mayo. It is NOT mayo.

Relish or any other kind of sweet pickle. Blech.

  19. Regular-Classroom-20 Avatar

Anything sweet. Especially if it’s honey-flavored. Honey is disgustingly sweet to me.

  20. letsmakeart Avatar

    As a vegetarian, meat 😛

  21. brunette_and_busty Avatar

I’m not a “sweet meat” person. So honey smoked anything, apples, apricots, sweet jams and sauces are out for me. Give me savory all day.

  22. liand22 Avatar

Raw onions. The smell and taste permeate it, even if removed.

    Untoasted bread

    Green peppers.

  25. Always_Reading_1990 Avatar

Pickles. You can pick them off, but everything on the sandwich will still taste like pickles.

When the tomato’s thicker than the meat like pleaseee

  27. Such-Swimming2109 Avatar

Hard bread that hurts to bite it or a too-much-meat-to-everything-else ratio (I like an unmeaty sandwich lol)

  28. zaatar_sprinkles Avatar

Stale dry bread that cuts up the roof of my mouth. Or, when I take a bite, and everything falls out of the other end. Bad sandwich architecture.

    Definitely tomatoes.
And I like tomatoes, just individually ahah

olives or condiments that include them, like tapenade.

Spicy peppers or relishes that include them.

Peppers that come out of a jar or can.

  33. tinfoilhattie Avatar

    Mayonnaise. It’s an immediate nope.

  34. hmtee3 Avatar

    Shredded lettuce

I will take any other greens. Shredded lettuce—just why?

  35. itsadoozy0804 Avatar

Too much meat! Please don’t give me an inch of sliced deli meats to justify charging more. I’ll take most of it off and feel guilty about the waste (money and meat.)

  36. nitarrific Avatar

When the bread falls apart, my sandwich is ruined.

  37. PureYouth Avatar

The bread getting soggy too fast because the ingredients are soaking wet

  38. Garden_Jolly Avatar

If there is no turkey, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayonnaise, or mustard.

  39. b0ngobong Avatar

    Warm lettuce

  40. Trisasaurusrex Avatar

Tomatoes because too wet (otherwise I love tomatoes), and lettuce because I’m just not a fan of lettuce outside of salads

  41. biodegradableotters Avatar

I hate when there’s like half a bucket of remoulade or mayo on there.

Too much Sauce Slippage or Not Enough Bun/Bread

Sauce slipping on Slippery Ingredients that just make a sloppy sandwich mess

When the sauces Mix Together to create a gloopy mess

I often ask for an extra bun or I’ll ask for sauce on the side and add my own sauces at home.

  43. cardboardfish Avatar

When I go to eat it and all my insides fall out

  44. shamefully-epic Avatar

American style bbq sauce that tastes like someone put a sugar cube in my mouth and made me smell smoking tyres.
Nope nope nopity nope for me.

  45. ChicBon606 Avatar

    Sweet pickles/relish are disgusting 🤢

  46. hypothetical_zombie Avatar

Tomatoes, lettuce, soggy bread, Miracle Whip, sweet ham.

  47. Unusual_Form3267 Avatar

    Really jenky bread.

You can have really expensive, nice charcuterie or some cheap, basic deli meat. Either can still be tasty if done right.

There’s an assortment of sauces and fillings, but that is all based on personal taste and doesn’t necessarily “ruin” a sandwich.

But EVERYONE can agree – bad bread ruins a sandwich!

There’s this sandwich shop here locally with great fillings and flavors. They get a really soft, airy, hoagie style bread for their sandwiches. When it’s a cold sandwich, it’s too thick and too dry. The bread to fillings ratio is wrecked. For hot sandwiches, they use a panini press. The bread is so airy and soft, it just smooshes flat. The worst part is that it doesn’t really get crispy. So now you just have a flat, soggy, soft sandwich. It blows.

It’s the same when you get those really high hydration sourdough bread slices from artisanal sandwich shops, and they slice it too thick and toast it. Like, yes, the sourdough is fantastic and rustic, but it is shredding the roof of my mouth to eat this damn sandwich. Yeeeesh.

Yeah, I have a lot of feelings about this.

  48. throwaway19074368 Avatar

Too much vegetables. Just cheapens the sandwich, like I didn’t get my money’s worth and also taste wise with balance.

I had an Italian cold meats sandwich (salami, mortadella, prosciutto) from a new place that opened up and it had wayy too lettuce.

couldn’t taste any of those meats apart from the spicy profile of the salami.

  49. Appropriate_Sky_6571 Avatar

Lettuce. I like my sandwiches warm and I hate warm and slimy lettuce

  50. piggy__wig Avatar

    red onions and mustard

  51. LoveSeasVoyage Avatar

Too much of any condiments. I like them, but please don’t do too much 😞

  52. Lunya_Vip Avatar

Background. It should be on a clean board, and next to it something aesthetic pleasing and tidy

  53. sanbikinoneko Avatar

An uneven bite! I hate biting into a massive amount of deli meat but nothing else, instantly gives me the ick.

  54. muffiewrites Avatar

Too much bread in the bread to ingredients ratio. There should be a harmony of flavor in each bite, not a mouthful of bread.

  55. reijasunshine Avatar

    Raw onions and/or mayonnaise. 🤮

  56. Connie_Damico Avatar

    Too much lettuce

  57. bizzygal77 Avatar

Soggy tomatoes & wilted lettuce. Too much mayonnaise.

  58. frankkiejo Avatar

Way too much mustard for no good reason. I want to taste the rest of the sandwich, not just mustard. If the bread is sliding around due to the amount of mustard, it’s far too much.

  59. UnintentionalGrandma Avatar

The texture of the bread can make or break a sandwich for me. If it’s too soggy, rubbery, or hard it kills the vibe

  60. QueenieofWonderland Avatar
  61. kellyguacamole Avatar

Too much of any one ingredient and not a balance of everything.

  62. Grigsbyjawn Avatar

    Mustard or Hot peppers

  63. searedscallops Avatar

    Ham. I fucking hate ham.

  64. ReptarrsRevenge Avatar

    meat (i’m vegetarian lol)

  65. Cassandra_Canmore2 Avatar

Making me pay $1.38 for an artisanal pickle, when it’s just a damned vlasic dill straight out of a Walmart jar.

  66. Some_Pilot_7056 Avatar

Visible mayo (a little is fine but if I can see it from the outside it is too much), sweet pickles, or a huge amount of meat.

  67. evhan55 Avatar

    Mustard 🤮
