Women who have had their babies after 35 , how did it go? What were the complications you faced if any?
Women who decided to have a kid later in life, how did a late child birth go?

My mom had my sister and I at 40 and 41. She experienced pre-diabetes but that’s about it, did not experience any other complications.
She made sure to eat a healthy diet, no smoking, drugs, and alcohol.
Can’t speak from personal experience, but one of my good friends had her first child at 20yrs old, and her second at 43yrs old (not planned lol). She said her pregnancy and birth were significantly easier with her 2nd. She said she had more energy even though she didn’t expect that. She said they put her in the hospital for monitoring just due to her age/blood pressure with the 2nd, but all ended up fine and she delivered naturally.
I was 36 and I didn’t really have any complications. I was pretty healthy starting out, except for stress. I only had the one baby and she was very late — I was basically ten months pregnant. My midwife decided to induce labor as scheduled even though I had contractions starting earlier that day. All in all I was in labor for 30 hours with a 8 lb 6 oz baby who was very healthy. I did have substantial tearing, but I recovered fine.
My mom had me 3 weeks before her 40th birthday and she said her only complication was that I gave her the worst heartburn of her damn life. She did end up having a c-section 3 weeks before my due date*, but that was more because she is a tiny lady and I was already 8 pounds with a disproportionately large head that would have broken her pelvis. Not related to her age.
*Yes, it was supposed to be on her birthday lmao
I was pregnant with my second at age 38 from IVF. Pregnancy was uncomplicated and boring. One week of mild nausea, some food aversions, low appetite, more fatigue the second time around (also was dealing with firstborn toddler at the time).
I delivered vaginally with epidural (spontaneous labor). I got a nap in, woke up, pushed 3 times, and baby was out in less than 8 minutes. Had a second degree tear. Baby was healthy. I had swelling from fluids for about two weeks but it resolved itself. I needed pelvic floor therapy. Overall smooth recovery.
I was 36. I had a lot of complications. None of them, AFAIK, were due to my age. The baby was very big, and I was hypermobile, so the relaxin did a number on me, and then the baby was sunny side up.
For my son I was 35, my daughter 38, both after IVF. Because of the fertility treatments and my age I wasn’t allowed to go past my due date either time. For my son this meant an induction attempt that lasted eight days and resulted in a c-section which was emotionally very difficult.
For my daughter, we scheduled a c-section. I hadn’t made any progress towards labor with her at all, and I knew more of what to expect, so it was a lot easier emotionally and physically.
