So it’s hard to say, I rebuilt it in a different way. I’m sure a lot of women here will comment on jobs. For me I was a caregiver for my very sick mother with dementia through my whole 30s. And most people were out with their friends, going on dates, building, lives of partners, having kids and enjoying their freedom. I was taking care of a sick mom.

I gained a ton of weight! When she passed, it was like a part of me healed. I didn’t have to watch her suffer anymore. I could sleep again and spend more time with myself. Started doing the things that made me happy, go to church more regularly, go to the gym, go for dinner and start dating again. I had time to go to the doctor for me for once and cook the food that I like to eat.

I’ll miss my mother forever, but it was a lot of work! It was beautiful though, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It made me a better person. I’d say a part of me rebuilding my life was her. She taught me how to be patient, gentle and kind. Maybe it was always there, but by taking care of her it emphasized it in me.

So my success story is part of what it took to rebuild me, the pain of losing the most important person in my life made be stand taller knowing what I was capable of.

I’ve lost a lot of weight. I got married. I’m so happy now. I wish she could’ve been here to see it, but I know she’s watching from up there. Don’t forget who you are and dive deep in to the truth of who you are. The possibilities are endless

When I was in high school a counselor said that if you ever feel suicidal, pack up and leave your old life behind and start a new one. I’ve lived in 6 states and have had about 20 different addresses. I’ve bought and sold a dozen houses. I was a job hopper back when it was supposed to be a bad thing but I always found another job.

Now, I live alone, have WFH job, no mortgage, no car payment, living life on my terms and I’m actually kind of proud of myself.Â
