Would you consider a mommy make over? Why or why not

r/

I know a lady who is working hard at losing weight so she can get the tummy tuck and boob job. Would you do it? Would your answer be different if your SO suggested it?

I’d love a tummy tuck. My neighbor is getting one in June, breasts and tummy. I don’t think I’d do them at the same time if I did both.

    Personally no.

I want my children to know what real human bodies look like and that it’s ok to have saggy boobs, a “mum tum”, loose skin, cellulite, stretch marks. All of those things are NORMAL and beautiful! I don’t want to be one of the people adding to the idea that everyone has to look “perfect” all the time and if you don’t you are worth less somehow. My value is more than what I look like. Bringing life into this world has physical effects on the body, as does aging. I LOVE that. If someone doesn’t like me because of what I look like then that their problem.

I think there is a difference if it is a medical issue that’s affecting your life, eg when an “obese” person loses a lot of weight and has a huge excess of skin that will impact their quality of life.

I’m generally critical of cosmetic surgery. If you want to teach your children body positivity, you should set that example by not undergoing cosmetic surgery.
